In this video we review the ever popular Ruger 10/22 Light Varmint Target 22 LR 20″ Barrel Semi-Auto Rifle, this specific variant of the Ruger 10/22 puts itsself somewhere beween the heavy target barrel version and their standard version.
This version is perfect for target shooters who want a target variant but without the extra weight of the heavy variant. While this 10/22 comes with the standard birch stock at this price you would have typically purchased this m,odel to swap out the stock to something nice like a Woox furiosa or one of the many other chassi options on the market

The eject is due to carbon ring build up in the chamber due to a match chamber.

I'm in the US, I own the same 10/22 LVT (same stock) ordered from Buds two years ago. It's a great out-of-the-box value, but I agree, for this type of rifle an aftermarket canted picatinny scope rail should have been provided by Ruger.

Off topic here, but I remember you saying the rpr's action is rough and sounds like a zipper. And that's true when it's stock. I swapped out the shroud for a titanium one from Anarchy Outdoors. The added weight balances the bolt throw a little better. Added a few coats of Cerakote to it and then topped both the shroud and bolt with Boretech Friction Guard. It doesn't make any noise now and slides like it's on greased rails. The difference is night and day. Give it a shot.... Edit just for clarity: I cerakoted the shroud only, not the bolt.

What yardage were the groups at? The 10/22 magazine is good but also makes the round that gets stripped from the magazine scratch the next round in the magazine, so?

I recently got a Ruger 10/22 bull barrel model. It came with a pic. rail as opposed to a Weaver rail (which is what yours came with.) I think Ruger has started replacing the old Weaver rails with Pic. type rails but that trend probably hasn't quite made it to the export rifles yet. (Of course that depends on how long ago you purchased your 10/22) It's really too bad you guys can't get suppressors. I really got away from shooting Rimfire guns just because I got kinda bored with it. Until I got my Rimfire suppressor. That really brings the fun back into it again. I can shoot out the window from my kitchen table now, and it doesn't even bother my wife when she's in the kitchen. That's a blast but now I need a bolt action 22 to really get it quiet. 😉

Ruger cold hammer forged barrels are not that great. Especially when talking about the 10/22. Guys would be money ahead by buying a used rifle, for cheap, and installing a Kidd or Green Mountain barrel. Cold hard truth there. When doing this, you’ll have much better luck at finding loads that shoot better than 1/2” for 10 shots. The Kidd I have will shoot cheap Federal automatch into smaller average groups, than what you are posting.

This test really is pointless because the numbers only for this rifle and no other. Using a low quality barrel and action with the loose tolerances and trying to test ammo is just a waste of time and money and none of the numbers are repeatable. It makes almost zero sense to shoot high grade ammo out of this rifle as after brick you could have upgraded the barrel to improve it. And that simply begins the domino process of replace part one then part two etc etc. Testing all these selections out of this platform which is not considered match grade by any measure is like testing racing tires on a Geo Metro...pointless. Match component to each other not extremes.
