Very true words! Clothes should have no gender! It used to be forbidden for women to wear men's clothes and now pants are for everyone, so why shouldn't frills and skirts? Heels were originally used by men too. Let's just bring it back!

Love this segment! It's really nice to hear you reaffirm how valid it is for non-binary people to wear lolita! I showed this video to my Non-Binary friend who loves lolita fashion but is hesitant to get into it and it made their day- so thanks so much for that!

I am a non-binary lolita! I'm so happy! The whole reason I'm agender is because I don't want to be put in a box. I don't like people telling me what I should be like based on my body. I just want to do what makes me happy.

@@TylerWillis It also has somewhat of the same layout too, the border print of animals having a food party and then the frames and ribbons on top. Even the name is close. It's literally just outdoor CTP but with bunnies.

I used to shy away from everything feminine to try to be more "androgynous" by the masculine standard. Eventually I came to terms with the fact that everyone is conditioned by their environment into liking certain things, but that doesn't change who we are as people. I like what I like. Now I'm fully comfortable with dressing feminine and hyperfeminine. There are people who think that you're faking your gender identity if you're "making no effort to look like it", but what does nonbinary even look like? I didn't realize clothes also had gender identities and assigned sex at birth? Especially for agender people, that statement is just silly and misses the point entirely. Gender is made up and I don't need it. I'm going to wear what I like because that's who I am before anything else.

Thank you Tyler. I am Non-binary and it took me a while after coming out to be comfortable with wearing feminine clothing again without questioning my own gender identity and get into the mindset that my clothes are mine no matter what society labels them as. 💖💖💖💖💖💖💖

I'm nonbinary, I keep my hair short, was infamous for never wearing skirts, and often de-emphasize my chest or outright wear a binder. but I also Really Really Really Like cute things. when my health was getting really bad and practicality of clothing became a lot less necessary because I wasn't walking anyway, I decided that the joy of cute prints was finally worth the trade and finally got my first couple dresses this year. putting on a wig and a petticoat doesn't change my gender, it just makes me a different kind of cute. I haven't even gotten to wear one outside yet but I already know it was the right choice. it might make misgendering more common (I wouldn't know, you'd think I'd be androgynous enough when not wearing my Frilly Nonsense but noooooo lol), but that's the fault of the idiot that thinks skirt = girl in a 1:1 ratio, not the person wearing what makes them happy. even though tyler portrays herself as a bitter and even vitriolic person, I never have to brace myself as a disabled nonbinary person watching her videos. I really appreciate that.

Thanks for making me remember Diabolik Lovers. Dark time in my life. Anyways I am NB and bad taste aside wearing lolita does not invalidate your gender! It comes with it's own challenges of people reading you as feminine if that bothers you, but honestly you're more going to hear annoying comments and get weird stares than any "miss" comments in my experience. The brand of hyper-femininity lolita exhibits is so far outside of normal gender expression for the average western person they aren't entirely sure what to make of it let alone your gender. It's always best to experiment in your own home though if you have the opportunity and see how you feel.

As a new lolita, I can't even afford to get into the fashion, even with old and faded used pieces on Lace Market. :C I've started work on my own pieces, now (I've never sewn a dress before but I suppose there's a first time for everything!). I'm so glad that you and Pearlie Cute have both brought up the mess and overpriced (as well as incredibly self-serving and not community supporting) entity that has become the "sweet boom". :c I understand people needing money and trying to make back some of the original cost, but when you're charging almost the same amount that you originally paid for the piece when there are stains from tea, coffee, sweat, etc., pulled threads, lost buttons/ribbons, etc. all over them- things you would have questioned as a buyer, but think it's OK to sell at that price to others within your own community-, I feel that that's really quite diabolical, greedy, and slimy. It makes me more and more nervous about getting into the community... it's almost become something out of the realm of the lower-middle to middle-class working person in relation to price, now. The community selling dresses at these prices is LITERALLY killing the overall lolita community, especially for those just getting into it.

Tyler, Silly question, at time index 1:30 the BTSB dress. What do you think of the high mounted neck bow piece ? Seems like it would standout very well, but would be hard to wear.

It’s not lolita, but French brand Egon Lab is doing a little better on non-binary that includes skirts & such. Guy’s grandparents are his ‘brand ambassadors’ and it’s very sweet to see them in their matching outfits (the outfits that I like anyway, lol, some of their stuff I just don’t ‘get’)

The salt for my beloved BTSSB is palpable. MMM is my fav, I go more goth, but I love BTSSB's black items.
