The Himalayan served Itchy Boots of the Netherlands very nicely on her world traveling adventures. She spoke very highly of it after tens of thousands of kilometers on it. She did replace the original seat, though, because after hundreds of kilometers the factory seat became uncomfortable for her.

At the age of 60 i find the Royal Enfield Himalayan the ideal travel bike for everything but hard core single track. It has a lot of weight but carries it well and is a great handling bike on the road and more capable than me off road. The power is low but it has a long stroke motor and very torquey with decent low end power. I really enjoyed the video and for anyone who is not familiar with Vanessa she is a very good rider and now competes in extreme enduros and is very capable around the workshop and will tackle anything. I love her blogs and videos.

Looks Amazing - I'm booked and heading down next weekend and I cant wait :)

Thank you for the video. I’ve been 1/2 dead from Covid for 5 weeks now and wanting to get back out now that I’m feeling better and no longer transmittable to others. Weeks of U Tube has convinced me to get a Himalayan as 2 nd bike for myself. I’ll also loan out to family and friends that come over and don’t bring a scooter for themselves.

Really enjoyed this I'm currently in the process of moving down to Devon so it's ace to see the roads in the surrounding areas :) Been considering a Himalayan for a while now so it's something I'll have to look at getting seem to tick alot of boxes for someone like me that uses 1960s bikes as daily riders.

I was with SME at the weekend. Just did the day one. Was amazing unfortunately had a whoopsy just before lunch and broke my leg. Very glad for the back up van which extracted me off the trail. Sme were amazing the whole way through. Would recommend to anyone.

Happy days in Dorset. The Himalayan fills the void of a simple motorbike quite like the XT 500/600 of yesterday. The Indian bike is quite heavy, but hey, it all depends on the roads you tackle. Looking forward to see the next two days. Günter from Nürnberg/Germany

@@TheGirlOnABike My venerable Transalp 600 bought last year fully equipped weighs less than 200 kg. Okay, nearly twice as much as my Beta Alp 200. But a trial bike is even lighter. And weight matters. Especially if you're fairly new to offroad like me. I started three years ago after ages on the road (still love tarmac) and racetrack. Admire your riding style on the Husky 250 in Sardinia. You're a tough girl. Not a lot of bike launches since 2020.

Planning to buy one. Preferring this over KTM Adventure 390. I also feel that its a good deal to have this bike at this price point. And, I always love the accent! So pleasant to the ears!

Just sold ours. It was a good starter bike for me on the off road stuff. Just not the fuel mileage we needed. I did enjoy it a lot. Fun little bike.

Organised guided trips are my idea of hell,, prefer to do my own thing,,, but was good to see you have a blast. Nice vid.

@@TheGirlOnABike If I was running that company I would have chosen the Beta Alp 200 over that RE... Same money,, 85kg lighter,, reliable Suzuki engine and beautiful Italian build quality.. I would probably plump for the RE if doing a world tour , but thats all..

It's a simple machine built for thing in its name, used by indian army in various terrain , can be fixed by any basic mechanic and cheap running cost. Himalayan is not a triumph tiger ,it's not trying to be , it's a adventure bike for the right customer. Anyone who has the budget will like triumph but it's a pain to fix if anything goes wrong in road side

@@TheGirlOnABike , So true , 2020 was worse for us in Australia, ( but it also depends witch state you live in ) Victoria was hit the worst with a 3 month lockdown, all the other states have just had between 3 weeks and day 3 days . This year the longest was 5 days , some states Nil. So life here is relatively normal “ which is fantastic for on and off road riding “ bike sales in Aus have gone Crazy - bikes here are on a waiting list . If you ever come to Australia I know HEAPS of off road EPIC riding locations. I loved your Iceland tour - that was EPIC ! there is a girl in Australia that has been riding around for the last 10 months 80% of her riding has been off road , a friend and I meet her a few weeks ago , an amazing and very interesting person to talk to .her link from almost the start of her journey kzread.info/dash/bejne/aY6D2sh_f7Hgf5s.html

There are quite a few green lanes and a big chunk of the Trans Europe Trail around Hampshire/Wiltshire and around Salisbury plain. Of course you need to be a bit careful on the plain because it is a military exercise area, sometimes with live firing.

Is a very entry level bike so the overall it's not high performance and the brakes align to that. But I would not say it's a problem

You have got no idea what the Himalayan can do...!!! I have been riding Royal Enfield for the past 16 years out of 21 years of my riding life...!!! I have a Himalayan and a Interceptor 650 and the Himalayan is around 2 years old. I have been to 18,000 feet above sea level 🌊 and then again I have been to the desert 🏜 High mountains 🏔 or anywhere else with bad or no roads it’s the best companion that you can get in a budget. The Himalayan is the best off road bike that you can go off road and on without a worry whether it will fit to the environment. Here in India 🇮🇳 you can get the greatest cult following for the bike and get a good glimpse of what this bike can do...!!!

Royal Enfield designed Himalayan for its Himalayan adventure,coz indians used to take bullet 350 or bullet 500 for riding in Himalayas,they used to face lots of problem riding there,then RE made Himalayan which was built for that purpose,yeh may be it lacks power,it may or may not be the best in segment but truly it's a capable adventure bike which you can always have your trust, Himalayan can go anywhere with you.

Miss Itchy Boots figured that a Honda at half the dead-weight was the way to go, for her trip to South Africa :-) the RF is a nice bike, but stupid heavy for a 400 CC one-lunger

My house is 100m off of these trails and it's a great place to chill. The spot for the thumbnail on your second video is an absolute nightmare in the winter but a beaut in the summer :D Glad you enjoyed it! EDIT: The trails....are a great place to chill.
