Go get it James! I just got back into riding last year. Got a street bike and waiting on a KLX230 to be mine in April. I went and sat on a new Himalayan last week. VERY nice, and that ultra low center of gravity makes it feel lighter than a CRF250L.

I bought a new Himalayan about 10 months ago and I love it! I think I probably got the second one ever sold in Utah. I live in Northern Utah with about a thousand miles of desert two track roads and single track trails out my back door and I'm only about 20 miles from high mountain country. I go trail riding in the low desert hills or I grab my pack fly rod and take it up in the mountains to remote fly fishing spots whenever I can. I am fine with the power, torque and speed. I'm over 60 and don't really enjoy going freeway speeds on a bike nearly as much as I used to. I'm also fairly tall- over six feet and weigh about 285. So far it has carried me up and over any hill or mountain- dirt or paved that I've attempted. It's a fun bike!

I just wanted to say how much I enjoy your Himalayan videos! I am envious of your access to such great roads, trails, and terrain. It is illegal to ride off-road anywhere here in NJ except for Wharton State Forest where the trails are all sand, almost impassable because of the very sugar-fine consistency of the sand. I admire your outlook and attitude - keep those great videos coming!

I'd be moving "the break light" further back, inline with the turn signals so it is not covered by the luggage strapped to the rear rack, truck drivers sit pretty high up and wont see the break light activate.

I have similar accessories on my own Himalayan. The Barkbusters are well worth the money - they keep my hands dry and warm even in winter. I also have Givi 3-point engine bars. I fitted a magnetic sump plug. Made by Dimple in USA. I have been using their products on all my bikes for many years. It's amazing how much they trap that the oil filter would miss.

Banned? Really? I have a 125 that kickstarts easily. Actually the electric starter is broken, so it's kick only. Have kickstarted other bikes as well. Yamaha Xt550, suzuki gs 850, honda cb500 for example. The more fractioned the engine is, the easier they are to start. Anyway, not an issue. My yamaha FZ750 is easy to push start. Still, kicking is easier than pushing. I'd rather have a kick lever in the middle of a trail with a low battery, than having to push a bike like this in the mud.

They are made of canvas and cheap. Made in Oz. 3) I am a fan of Mosko Moto Reckless 80 holster style soft luggage. I have to drive on Southern California freeways where everyone travels at 80+ so I need a faster bike and better braking to be safe. Thank you sir best video I have seen on the Himalayan. Lots of real world things most of us want or will do to a bike. Also great job with explaining costs and why. PS video was good enough to earn me as a sub!

10:17 *The Tank Pads! I'll really need a pair of those. After my TKR operations. The latest in 2020. My leg muscles are still weak. And I like to squeeze the tank, while riding. Muscle exercise and it helps me to focus. Last night riding back home from the supermarket in heavy, driving tropical downpours. I was gripping my Royal Enfield Meteor 350 tank with my knees and it helped. I hope I can find the Tank Pads here in Bangkok. Best regards, Bangkok-Johnny*

may be a suspension upgrade kit will be a good addition for better ground clearance, changing all light bulbs to led's and a lithium battery(save weight) and last but not least an Akrapovik exaust (again save weight). grezt form Belgium.
