If anyone is interested, the spanish crown is not meant to be put in the head of our kings, it is a symbol of the monarchy itself, and, in the proclamations of the Spanish kings by the Congress, it sits, with a scepter, on a cushion. If you look for pictures of Spanish Kings, you'll never see them w/ a crown on the their head unless it's a medieval representation. The crown is actually made of silver, gold plated and it's too big to be worn.

I suppose the Portuguese Crown was also not used, but by different reason: Saint Mary was crowned the Perpetual Queen of Portugal and since then the Portuguese monarchs never put it over their heads.

2:00 The crown of Hawaii is located in Iolani Palace in Honolulu. The crown pictured is the crown of King Kalakaua which was originally crafted in London in 1883. The original crown of King Kamehameha was made of red and yellow bird feathers and looks somewhat like a Roman Centurion's helmet. It is also located in Iolani Palace. I have seen both these crowns in person.

@@thomasblecha It doesn't matter where it's kept. For historical items it doesnt matter where they are now, but the history that sits behind them. It was the most recognisible item for the HRE in a time where austrian identity was still very much linked to the other german identity and thus making the distinction based on modern geopolitical boundaries wouldnt make sense. And yet I still would have liked to see the crown on that list regardless if portrayed by a german flag or austrian, because leaving out this crown as a whole left this video missing on of the most important crowns of broader european history imo.

Not realy. The former german duchy Württemberg was enlarged and called kingdom by Napoléon in 1806, it ended at 10th of November in 1918. So the crown was made in ( or shortly after) 1806. It is rather cheaply made from gilded silver, and the jewels are pompeous buttons , decorated with ,Edelsteinen' ( don' t know english word) from older pomp jackets. The crown and the ,szepter' , which was also produced, have never been worn by one of the four kings Württemberg had. In those ceremonies, where showing of crown and szepter was necessary, two servants carried the items on pillows made of expensive cloth/ fabric. If württembergian rulers, before being kings also had a special headgear for being Duke, i don' t know, may be either a very simple crown looking like a ring, vor a hat/ cap made of ,purpurred' cloth and white fur of a weazlelike animal. I know, that in 1496 when Count Eberhard of Württemberg got the title ,Duke' from Emperor Maximilian l, the emperor gave him an expensive decorated sword, but i don' t know if this sword was for showing the new rank, or simply a honourfull present/ gift,

The history of the crown of Bolesław the Brave (Polish crown) is really unique. Firstly it was made much later than on Bolesław the Brave's (or in Polish "Chrobry") coronation, because in 1320 for Władysław I the short. Despite this, it was still called the crown of Chrobry 'cause of its' importance(17 polish kings out of 35 were crowned with it). In 1795 during partitions it was robbed by Prussian soldiers, disassembled and melted for gold coins, but 200 years later Polish antique dealer Adam Orzechowski with usage of coins from probably that and other Polish regalia has restored it, following the eighteenth-century descriptions, so it is highly possible that at least partially, present crown is made out of original crown's gold. Thus, with a dose of care we can acknowledge it as the original crown.

Serbian one (Karađorđevićs' crown) was made in 1903. for the coronation of Peter I. It is a comparatively modest crown since it was made out of bronze and just thinly coated with gold. No need to waste too much $ for a ceremonial item. But it is highly symbolic since the bronze comes from an old cannon used during the First Serbian Uprising (1804-1813). The uprising was led by the founder of the Karađorđević dynasty - (Kara) Đorđe Petrović and during its course the first iteration of a modern de facto independent Serbia came into being, albeit only for a decade.

There were many crowns, the fact that there is not coronation didn't affect. Charles the I used the Holy Roman Empire crown, and I think Philip II too (symbolically). I think later there was another crown (the official heraldic crown of Spain) which was lost. So the "official" crown of Spain is not the one they displayed here, because it's symbolical. This one is modern. There were cool crowns like Isabella I crown, and Sancho I crown of Castille (my favorite)

Makes me sad that no crown or item of Monarchy or the rule relating to the petty kings or old kings of Ireland, I'm not saying we had a good job at preserving them, but the English didnt help either, very saddening to think of how much was lost in Ireland

Oh no, why choose for Romania the crown of the queen?? Because it looked more royal and golden??? The crown of the king maybe doesn't look that great but it's that way on purpose. It's made from steel, melted from the cannons captured during the war of independence. I think it's decorated with pearls.
