I appreciate the compliment! So glad you enjoy the show.
When I was in college a group of us played Risk almost every night for 2 months. The game soon became boring with cards being drawn to win the game. So we changed the game to create navies to control the water paths. We used the 10 unit markers to indicate naval units. Each continent had an island that took a navy to cross the link (We created Terra del Fuego for South America but had to add Cuba for North America to be viable). The oceans were North Atlantic, Indian, South Atlantic, Gulf of Mexico, Mediterranean (makes Africa viable) and Pacific and South China Sea. You had to own the ocean to attack across the links. You could load troops onto fleets and could move them ocean to ocean as long as you held or captured them in your turn. If you lost your ships the troops were lost too. You could only fight for oceans with fleets and of course the land troops were the little single blocks. This really livened up the game and made strategy more complex. If you had a large navy you could retreat to your island and rise again.

What is that man child that doesn't know anything about strategy :S You did not win because you are good, they screwed themselves. The only reason your sitting worked is because they played poorly in it. Black should have chewed on bot when he was small, to gain pressure in europe as he was the strongest at that time, then chew on the next weaker player. From pressure you can force or incite other players to certain moves, he didn't do shit, and he could have even after getting locked in Asia. But instead everybody sat. They were dumb to wait until you had more troops even if they could see your revenue. . . What is that, santa claus strategy? Please make something happen out of nowhere for me? Try games with a larger community, you'll face truly smart players there. Sorry you just happened to stumble under my sight and got feedback from a wider perspective of Reality. Also known as ''bursting your bubble''. I was annoyed by the behavior gotta say.

Very intriguing to watch, can definitely see the strategy highlighted, and it's interesting to see the level of politics that goes over one space. Obviously I think there should be some mechanics to accelerate the pace at points, but it's still amazing to see how quickly things can turn when someone gets impatient (although after an hour of playing with one move turns who can blame them lol). Interesting content, and genuinely looks like a wholesome person too; how in the actual hell you can manage to wait on baited breath in something I would consider to be tedious is beyond me lol. I love that like everyone else I found you through the algorithm. I love strategy games, and I appreciate a good strategist that talks through his strategy as he’s playing and executes very good moves. Earned a sub!
Keep streaming you will definitely get a much bigger audience if you keep doing stuff like this. I was just intending to skip through and get an idea of what was going on but ended up watching the full length. Great content and keep it coming!

I felt the same way, “oh Competitive Risk? That's weird.” “Woah this guy is extremely passionate.” “Holy shit this is so wholesome, he put a lot of work into.” “Woah that was a quick hour and a half.”
22:50 is absolutely hilarious to me. Pete's passion for this game is infectious. Instant Sub, excited to see more

@@TheKillPeteStrategy I used to play Risk with my housemates everyday after work on the xbox and it was an absolute blast. I downloaded Risk last night and joined the discord, can't wait to get my friends involved. We all live in different countries now so this is perfect for us. thanks Pete
I love how humble he was about getting roughly 30 viewers at the start and now this video has millions of views. I have never played or watched Risk be played until now. I was always fascinated by it though as a kid because we had the board game but every time I asked if we could play I was told no it takes too long.

I'm so blessed to have met with the success I have on yt. This version of risk is nice and quick. There are a lot of settings than can be finished in 20 minutes.

Glad you enjoy it!
A game about patience, never attack the big numbers and let the others attack those. The one who has the most time on it's hands wins the game
Never watched a single game of Risk, let alone played, but stayed until the end. Grateful for the content. and the algorithm. xD

Can't believe I watched this entire video to the end when I don't even play this game. You're so entertaining!
I've played Risk once in my life and the game lasted 8+ hours and ended with us deciding it wasn't worth continuing since it was 6AM and we were tired. Never seen it played other than that, but I can say that the game plays better virtually with a time limit, that's for sure haha. Great video, love your energy.
Nothing could be more fitting than the player with America outproducing opponents lol. Also always happy to see small streamers be blessed by the YT algorithim. God bless!

"We have an amazing 40 viewers today!" -> video now has over a million views in half a year. This guy seems so wholesome and generally entertaining, I'm glad he's been growing :)
What a come back, nice
I found this video randomly while sick. Easily the best video I’ve seen in months. Your personality, knowledge of the game and commentary are both extremely enjoyable and interesting to watch. Keep it up!!

Thanks a lot! I'm glad you like it
I haven't played Risk since I was a kid, but watching high level play for the first time I can't help but think the game should be titled Risk Averse. Congrats on the win though, I never knew it was played like this!

I like the pun Sir!
So happy I came across this channel! I started playing risk almost 50 years ago as a small child, & it evolved into a passion in my early teens, when my best, his family & I got into games that lasted weeks & had to be tracked on paper as the army sizes got so big. Unfortunately I moved away from that area & family 44 yrs ago & never found anyone else that appreciated the game & never really played again. Had no idea this was now an online game. I’m so curious about it. I barely remember the game tbh. I can’t wait to watch a master & re-learn what I’ve forgotten! Obviously liked & sub’d!

At first I wasn't sure. But dammit you're just so genuine that I can help but appreciate your love for this game. It's what's its all about. Have a passion and be open and friendly to share that passion so maybe it becomes someone else's.

That's a very nice thing to say. It's strange to me that everyone isn't geniune. After all its more work to be someone else than it is to just be yourself.
As with many others, this randomly came up on my feed. I thoroughly enjoyed watching and was glued to my screen the entrire time. This really makes me want to play the game again. Keep up the good work!
Amazingly well played! First video I've watched of yours. Subscribed! And taking a 10 min breather before starting your round 2 video! It was an absolute pleasure and I look forward to more!!
It surprises me that even after almost 2 years you're still replying and liking comments, it's pretty awesome. Anyway, great video, 94 minutes from my life well spent. Hoping to catch some of your streams

Great video! I can‘t imagine how often I looked into it. Well played! ❤
Never played a game of risk in my entire life, was super lost watching this. But on the flip side as a big total war player I love seeing the strategic and tactical choices going through your head, something I relate to very much when playing TW. Watched the whole thing, makes me wanna learn more about the game.
