  • @redshirt49

@@VillaG89 It is not an illegal shot. Jumpshots are only illegal if they are done intentionally to clear balls in the way of your shot. If there is no ball between his cue ball and the object ball, then it is not a foul. (This is according to standard international rules, house rules and special tournament rules may or may not apply but as it is, it is nominally a legal shot.)

@@Charlie_Crown Yeah man I mean .. It is about 50/50, if it was a foul or not, maybe 70/30 to the favour of it being a fault. So reviewing it again, considering it, you're right. I agree that "might have doesn't even come into it". (:

I play in a team sport -- boule. Usually played in a team of two or three. But, like snooker, when you're playing, it's just you. Took me years to get over giving myself a hard time for "failing" / playing a bad shot. That habit just drags down your game so much. The best players (snooker, boule, whatever) give themselves a hard time, but manage to do a sort of a reboot and clear out those feelings before they play again

  • @RB747domme

They are. All professional women snooker players are allowed to enter any tournament. But they have to qualify - and it's these three qualifying rounds that are proving difficult to get through in order to get to the TV stages of tournaments. So basically what you have, is the women players involved with their own tour, which is their main source of income, and then when possible, entering the qualifying rounds of a large international non gender specific tournament that is dominated by the world's best 128 men. And that's just the final stages of a tournament. In order to qualify they have to first battle through the top 500 odd players, some of whom are ranked in the top 64, so you can see how difficult it is sometimes. But they are making progress, so it won't be long before you start seeing regular women players on the main tour. Reanne Evans has already been given a wildcard to compete on the men's tour over a full season, but she declined to play in all of the tournaments, citing; _______________ ⟨ ⟩_______________ "I want to thank Barry Hearn, and the WPBSA for giving me the wildcard, and the opportunity to play on the larger stage against the top male players. This comes with a lot of pressure, and an awful lot of competitiveness, with the men's standard being somewhat higher than I am used to, meaning that I will have to pick and choose the tournaments that I play in. If two tournaments clash, then I have a dilemma. I can either go out in the opening pre-qualifying round on the main tour, earning me literally zilch, or get to the final and possibly win on the women's tour earning me £5000. That may not sound like much, but it's our livelihoods, our main source of income. A tour ticket in the 90s, or early 2000s, would have guaranteed us thousands on the tour, due to the first round losers prize money which would be enough to live on and pay the bills, not to mention the much smaller tour and competitive playing field. At least this would have allowed you to wholeheartedly practice, and enter every tournament knowing that you would be gaining much needed matchplay experience on the men's professional tour. But in 2010, there are 150 odd players capable of winning any Major, including the World Championship. The men's standard is so high, that it means someone like Shaun Murphy, as a rank outsider, can turn up and win the World championship at his first attempt. The only way the women's game is ever going to reach that same standard, is for all of us to be given a season tour ticket - and that way we can practise and compete week in week out alongside the top male players. No favoritism, we would still have to qualify for every single event - but the difference is, that we would have the opportunity to play against the top 200 odd ranked players worldwide every single season - which can only be a good thing for the women's game." *_Reanne Evans_*

To raise ticket sales, I would have the players wear low cut tops and mini skirts. People would pay good money to see Ronnie wearing a tutu

Incredible, the snooker fraternity has come to accept Ronnie's fist bump pre and post match. Kind of make sense now doesn't it, in the wake of Covid but pre Covid it was regarded as distasteful and "O'Sullivan just being O'Sullivan" disrespectful.

Maybe it’s more obvious than I think but would 147s be counted if both members got points off

Not possible as the same player stays at the table for every shot during a break build so a 147 made every single point would be scored by the same player mate
