About 50 years ago a young boy was bowling in his junior league. He threw one bad shot....and also kicked the ball return. One of his league coaches saw it, and called him over. The coach asked just one question: "If the ball return could kick back, would you still kick it?" That was the last time he EVER kicked a ball return! LESSON TAUGHT AND LEARNED. He did a lot of growing up that day.

300's are impressive at all anymore but an 800 is hard to get. I have never had a sanctioned 8 and have been bowling since the 60's.

I once saw a guy on the front 30 (300 - 300 - front 6 the 3rd game) not strike in the 7th frame of the 3rd game and completely lose his mind.

What did he leave on that shot? I once started league with the front 16 only to leave a solid 8 on a perfect hit and then struck the next 4. So I wasnt happy either. Unfortunately, this was the end of all the fun because the college house used a light/cheap oil where adjustments made no difference once it dried out. Had I bowled on the oil of today, who knows how many strikes I would have managed in dead stroke?

That would then be the 11th frame. Strike in the 10th, 8-pin count would be the 11th. There is no 12th frame if the 11th wasn't a strike.
