Lol, Romila is a propagandist.

Great historian who understands history isn't all about who reigned the era but all people who lived that era. Greatly said by her in civilized society all knowledge is open to questioning.

It was she who reduced it to Hindu vs Muslim debate, by suppressing facts and providing a version which would appease a certain section of people, and completely suppress and to the extent f shamelessly supressing the long illustrious history of various Indina kings. (the absence of her brethren in 2010 Ayodhya judgement is very well documented in the judgement itself.) She herself perpetuated the divide by backing the ideas of colonialists and made India a prime example of Post-Colonial state,. Now when confronted by other Historians, academics, instead of defending her work and manuscripts, she is playing the same old technique of preaching, rather than standing by her works. No wonder we still have a colonial indset as education has made us believe what British envisioned of India. And studying Ancinet Indina History from an Anglacised historians, is similar to a Nazi teaching Human Rights to Jews

Romila Thapar was recently invited to debates, but I have never seen her in one. No matter what she says in her written commentary here, I still think she needs to accept that her view of history is not the only one and that there are other true perspectives as well. She is supporter of colonialism and the Aryan invasion theory. We all need to live in harmony in any country including India. Those who claim that India is secular and that the Muslims that remained in India and did not want to join Pakistan should bear in my mind the following fact: 97% Muslims voted in favour of the Muslim League for Pakistan Creation, but 50% of them chose to stay back Post Partition.

Hindutwa is simple "Essence of Hindu Teachings". You can call it Hinduism, The "Ism" is a Foreign Word added by British. In Sanskrit, The "Ism" is called "Tatva" so shortened to "Tva". So "Essence of Hindu" = Hindu + Tatwa = Hindutwa = Hinduiusm. Our Hindu Gods were not Pacifist like Gandhi or Jesus, They carry Weapons to Slaughter the Wicked and Evil Forces while upholding "Dharma" (Righteous Code) and Protecting the Weak and Innocent.

What makes you think Hindus were not invaders. If there existed a king, he would surely invade other territory. Eg, Ashoka of the Guptas, waged a bloody war in Kalinga. Various bio studies on whether a lion or tiger be a pet....should be the basis on the above line: for eg: "No matter how cooperative and docile they may seem and act there are no guarantees that their interaction with humans won’t turn from friendly to aggressive at some point in their life. The aggression of a tamed animal can be far more unpredictable, and dangerous, compared to domesticated animals".
