Some of us may be able to empathize without being able to fully relate, especially if we haven't experienced a broken home, an abusive father, a complicated family situation, or baby mommas. While I appreciate Rome's honesty and openness, our experiences are not the same. So yeah, some of us can empathize, but NOT relate. 👍🏾

One of the best interviews, seeing a man being so vulnerable and serious about the situations he has been through. That’s a big deal. Most celebrities wouldn’t come up there and be this real. This is an eye opener for most men. Not wanting to be alone is a real feelings most MEN feel but won’t admit.

I love how he took off his glasses to look her in her eyes❤

Its obvious alot of parents dont care about the kids because alot of them grow up with only one parent. As long as nobody is abusive both need to stay for the child it can always work. One of the best interviews y'all have ever had. Rome struggled to look Jess in the eye the whole time. Guilt, shame and anger are whooping him, but he was incredibly articulate and vulnerable. This convo was necessary.

This was one the most honest, most vulnerable, and most transparent interviews thus far. Thank you Jess and Rome for allowing this interview to be a safe space for people who are currently going through this, and a great reflection for people who have gone through this and are choosing to grow... ✨💛

My mom and dad are similar to them. They were never married, had 4 kids together, and a on and off relationship.. no it wasn’t all good but they grew to become best friends, and they’re really close in a friendly way. It feels good to see that

He had a dad in the home and look how his dad did him, but then they will blame single moms.

I love this dynamic ❤️ Once emotions are pushed aside, the co parenting relationship can flourish. This is the definition of true friendship

Omg not them interviewing the baby daddy. I love the breakfast club's selection of guests they always seem to throw a curve ball every now and then.

Thank both of them for their evolution, for their selflessness on letting us into their story so that we could learn and for the glow up in general. He was being a good interviewee. How should he have acted? Scared and shy?

This is a real conversation. A lot of black families do stuff like what Rome is talking about to their kids, nieces, nephews etc. A lot of black (American/West Indian mostly) Gen X and Baby Boomers sabotaged their kids and whenever the younger people try to speak to them to fix it privately, they deny, lie, cry etc. It's sad and this is difficult to say but we need to forgive them and do better in our own lives. Jess is a good woman for giving him the space to heal and share his experiences on these public platforms.
