The fact that you have the ability to purchase and ding and scratch up a watch of this nature is an achievement in itself. Wear the watch and enjoy. I bought my first Rolex GMT master in 1986. After eight years in the Army and 10 years in various deployments overseas I retired it. Now it rides around on my daughters wrist. You should see what it looks like now. My point is enjoy it and don’t worry about it. Dings and light scratches happen.

The cape cod is unnecessary in my opinion, especially for a Rolex. You said it yourself in the video, the scratches will happen over time and wear which is to be expected by anyone..I say as long as you don’t drop your Rolex on the ground or inflict any substantial damage to it to the point that you get a gouge in it, break the crystal or cause issues to the movement, leave it alone. Don’t worry about waiting for a certain amount of scratches and trying to tape it and polish it on your own. Send it into Rolex once every 10 years or whatever is recommended by Rolex for a service to the movement and if you so wish to have it polished, have it polished during the service BY Rolex. And honestly, I probably wouldn’t even get mine polished at all ever unless it was needed for some reason. Enjoy that thing man.

You’re right! The more I thought about it, the more I realized that I shouldn’t touch it and if anything Rolex can professionally polish it in service. Good points and thanks for watching!

Scratches are part of the watch's history. Mine is all scratched up and some of these scratches bring back memories of things I've lived. Let it scratch. hehe 🥰

Polishing is a slippery slope. Go through the process of accepting the light wear and you will avoid impulsively doing damage to the watch with polishing etc. The worst Rolexes I've seen are the ones that the owner has polished until the beveled edges are worn smooth and rounded over.

I love a moderately scratched up luxury diver because it makes me feel like less of a bitch for Desiring and actually buying a watch that costs more than a year of work for many people in this world. It's kind of a douchebag thing to do even in my eyes but when I realized that I'm actually wearing it and using it every single day and it's getting somewhere until I feel a little better.

Appreciate the video quality, HDR and all. Better than many of the big channels. Also lovely Sub, that but regular with no-date is my dream watch. Still some years to go to be able to justify such purchase (and to get the AD to sell me one, that's another story lol)
