Perfectly sizing a pre-ceramic Rolex for a small wrist

Ойын-сауық

This video shows how to perfectly fit a pre-ceramic Rolex (4- or 5-digit references such as the 14060, 16710, 16610, 16520, etc) if you have a small wrist. With this solution your watch will sit comfortably and well balanced on your wirst, making it a pleasure to wear, without negatively affecting the look of the bracelet.

I did this to my 14060M with a service clasp as well. Another option if you don't want to do any cutting/riveting is just reverse the clasp and wear it upside down. It feels wierd at first but you get used to it.

Nice video. I have a 7inch wrist. 4 links on 6 hr side and 7 on the 12 with micro adjust the way up on u 214270. I don’t like 5 links on the 6hr side cause it makes the clasp end look weird on wrist.

Are you sure it is safe just to attach the clasp directly to that hollow center link on the fourth link. I've seen posts where that hollow center link gets worn out because of the friction. I think you need some sort of sleeve around the rivet of the clasp which you have on that end link. What is your take on this?

I’m sorry, but before you start destroying permalinks, just try reversing your bracelet. It centers the inner clasp just fine on my 14060M and 16710 SEL just fine. You’ll forget about it after a day, and nobody really scrutinizes a clasp direction anyhow. BONUS: It’s smoother when reversed and less likely to snag or show wear

If you need 4 links on each side you can flip it all day but it won’t work

  • @Hilighted

@@watchyouare@5:30 you slide the bottom clasp to center on your wrist and it STILL pushes the watch head to the top edge away from your wrist - and that’s with your four links. I literally own both of these watches and the only solution was to reverse the clasp so that it sits flush and in the middle of your wrist while the watch head is centered on your wrist as well. I destroyed an EXP II Polar by removing a permalink and it still didn’t sit in the middle and swore off Rolex ever again. Ten years later I bought a 14060 M at a good price and reversed the clasp and voila! It solved the issue without removing permalinks. Also, I disagree that a six-digit is better for smaller wrists since the watch head is much heavier as is the bracelet. It’s very top-heavy for a smaller wrist and much more likely to porpoise. The “micro adjustment” is equal to an entire link so you’ll either have a very loose and heavy watch or one that is cinched down so tight as to be intolerable. Very nice collection tho!
