How to Size a Watch Bracelet (3 Different Methods) - Watch and Learn #14

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

In today's episode of Watch and Learn, we will cover the ins and outs of sizing a watch bracelet. It is a rather simple task that can be accomplished by both novice and expert. There are many ways to size a bracelet, so we show you how to do it with three of the most popular tools out there; a spring bar tool, a bracelet vise, and a hammer and block. Once you have the know-how, you won't have to pay a jeweler again to do this for you.
The standard friction or cotter pin bracelet will be discussed in this video, with future Watch and Learns dedicated to other bracelets such as pins and collars.
The tools used in this episode are rather affordable, and a selection of them is shown below:

Thank you for this...I always take my new watch to the local jeweler and pay them $20 to adjust the bracelet. I have had a kid for quite a while but if I did not learn anything else from your video is LOOK FOR THE ARROWS! 😂👌 I had never seen those before. So, I successful adjusted my bracelet on my new Seiko GMT....I feel empowered! Thanks my dude!

Thank you this is my third watch bracelet adjustment video that I've watched today and it is by far the most professional and the most informational. This makes me feel confident about working on my own watch bracelets. My next step is buying the right tools I guess. Thanks for posting this video much appreciated.

If you don't have a fancy watch block, to put it on, while you tap the pins out, I used a "flat" wrench from a monitor arm to provide a simple gap for the pin to fall out. Also, if you don't have the fancy punch tool, the center wire of a coax video cable can be used to gently tap the pins out. Yep, talking about mcgyver, but it really does work! Great video, and thanks for the helps.

Perfect video from a professional. Hate all the DIY videos of amateurs doing this and telling other people what to do. I've just bought a 500 dollar watch, I'm not gonna trust some diy guy and start banging on my watch with a hammer. You, on the other hand are a respectable source and I trust your advice. Thank you!

Just watched 3 videos on this subject, but yours was by far the best. Having broken my clamp pin thingy, and I don’t have a block and nylon hammer, I was amazed to see you can push the pins out with the flat tool and finger pressure alone. Wish I’d watched this video months ago. Thanks a million 👍

Confident, intelligent, with a sense of humility and humor combined. Thanks for bringing back memories. Thanks for the excellent video! Channeling Jim Croce: "Cause [Florida's] not my home." This was super helpful! A new watch arrived today. First new watch I’ve bought in 10 years. I got a sizing kit similar to the one in this video. Probably a much cheaper version though. Watched the video through twice. Then decided to give it a try using that screw type vice tool. The pins came right out, I removed a few links, then used the hammer to replace the pins. Finally I used the method shown here to adjust the spring pin. Done in less than 10 minutes and the watch fits perfectly! Thanks!!

Learned a lot from your video, tried other ways I saw online. Couldn't find the jewelers block you used, made one on my table saw in about a minute, Measured the width of my watchband and made the cut to leave 1/8" of the band above the wood surface, used a colored push pin and ground the pointed end flat, tapped the pins out of my band very easily. Voila!
