Great video; thanks. Just a thought: It would be interesting to make a series of curving bracelet outlines -- kind of a graph or chart -- on heavy paper showing what amount of side-to-side bend in a Rolex Jubilee bracelet is (1) acceptable (i.e., within specs), (2) what amount is borderline, and (3) what amount is unacceptable. If Rolex doesn't have such specs, I would think you could develop them as a watch repair expert. Seeing this particular bracelet tested with such a device, before and after your work, would have been interesting and allowed you to even quantify the before-and-after improvement. I'd love to see you do such a test on a future Rolex repair. Thanks again.
@Vintwatches

Thank you 🙏 Great ideas, will think about it!
Funny how Rolex used to use hollow end-links and plain folded middle-links on their jubilee bracelets and now people scoff at Orient, Seiko, Invicta for doing the exact same thing on watches costing 100 times less than a Rolex. I watch reviews for new cheap watches, like a new Mako, or a new DressKX and I laugh everytime I hear the reviewers saying "the bracelet is absolute crap! Hollow end-links? folded middle-links? Stamped folded clasp? For 150-200 USD they could have done so much better!" And I'm like "for 5000+ USD, Rolex could have done so much better with their bracelets, too, since the 60's 'till the mid 2000s!"
@WINDINGCROWNS

I agree 💯. Or when they cry about no on the fly adjustment on bracelets on cheap watches but Rolex just started doing a few years back. Everyone other than Rolex was way ahead of the game. Solid links and end links on Rolex came much later.
Wonderful job. An excellent complement to the watch restoration. Shame to see such a piece receive such wear and tear. Then again, that's what they were built for.

Looks great as all your restorations. I've always wondered if the wear to the gold links could be compensated with with pins of a larger diameter in the middle or maybe tubes put over the pins. Would that take out that last little bit of slack?

Thanks 🙏 That’s a very good thought. I’m working with tubes on the old folded bracelet’s. If you do want a almost stretch free jubilee than it is also possible to restore the inner links as well or to change them completely to new ones.

Great save. I was wondering how to properly adjust the last link that attaches to the endlinks. I have a 6521H that is loose and the endlink pops away from the case as a result. I tried bending the center links closer together but then it becomes tight and rests under the endlink. I imagine the solution is adjust it somewhere between too loose and too tight. Any advice would be appreciated.

Amazing work, as i understand for vintage watch it is pretty reasonable to save original bracelet and restoration in this case make sense. I mean, i don't see where the stretch from the center links was eliminated.. I believe the outer links are supposed to basically touch to firm the bracelet and slow down wear.. Also was a little surprised you didn't polish all the center links together, slid onto a rod.. using the wheel later only got the tops, no? And lastly.. should the pins have been shortened slightly so the don't bottom out to make up for the lost width of the softer center links? Anyway, fascinating video. Especially the laser and reworking of the new metal. Thanks!

Dear George, thank you for your comment! As you mentioned there is still stretch on that bracelet because I didn’t restored the inner 18k links. It is possible to restore or change them but depends on the budget of the customer. I shortened the polishing process on the video, otherwise it would be way too long. Your idea to shortened the pins is very good, I adjust every pin to perfect size and fitting for each link. Best regards from Germany Daniel -Vintwatches-

If gold is the softer metal than stainless steel , why do the steel pins wear and not the inside of the gold link ? For a bracelet to be as stretched as this one is , why is there no noticeable wear in the internal ends of the gold links , this is very odd for such a stretched jubilee .
@Vintwatches

The gold links wear out as well, it is possible to restore or change them. At the end it’s a choice of the budget of the restoration. As you could see at the video, there is still stretch, that comes from the 18k links.
