The idea that this man opened the doors for Scorsese, Coppola, Nicholson, Ron Howard, James Cameron, and so many more is quite an achievement. R.I.P to the great Roger Corman.

A truly incredible & humble man.
Don't forget Roger Corman's great dramatic turn in "Godfather Part 2" as one of the Senators grilling Michael Corleone before the Rackets Committee. A true originator in shoestring, no-budget filmmaking. RIP 😢

An absolute legend. I love watching interviews with Corman…he had such a pleasant and articulate speaking style. Very smart man. It’s crazy to think this interview was 42 years ago and he was 56 here.

This was one of his best, especially for a topic he didn't seem all that knowledgeable about.
He had such an incredible voice, he could have easily been a voice over artist as well.
What a great voice.

What a voice!!! Thank you Roger Corman for all the entertainment. Rest In Peace...
RIP Corman. Thanks for the movies and memories
Such an innovative and cinematic pioneer. He will be missed.
I had pure admiration and adoration for that man.
Schlockmeister supreme🤘🏻. Wow, what a cool gentleman, so happy, mellow, enjoys his craft. With Bobby, Charlie, Donnie, Jacky, et. al.🎞📽🎬📼🕯 R I P, Mr. Corman🌠
He was one of a kind. Truly great at everything he did.
Such a great segment. I honestly love Roger's voice and way of speaking, too - it's so calming and old school. Really glad Letterman/his team more likely are putting up these clips from his old, "late late" show from the 80s - it was such an excellent show, and at that time iin the zeitgeist, you could actually go in-depth, and serious, and it was no problem.
Man, that man made so much horror I own on vhs and he changed the face of horror. I hope his life was glorious. He surely enriched mine. He will never be forgotten.
So many memories of seeing his movies at the old Cardinal Drive-in on Friday and Saturday nights. Thank you, Mr. Corman!!
I always remember him from the Ron Howard movie Apollo 13 where he played a Senator touring NASA and asking Jim Lovell questions.
‘You never know what’s going on in the back of someone’s mind’, he says, with a glimmer in his eye. This guy was fantastic!
RIP, my favorite producer. Love his and Julie’s flicks.
Oh myyyy! He talks like George Takai too! RIP Legend. ❤
RIP Roger Corman. Thank you for so many wonderful movie memories. Condolences to his family and friends. Love and best wishes from the UK.
God bless Roger. He was cheap, but he gave so many people the opportunity to make movies... which was a dream to all of them. He made that dream come true. RIP.
Wow, what an episode THIS was: Roger Corman......and then Viva! 🤯 No wonder why I used to tape this show every night! And that's when a blank video tape cost, like, twenty bucks!
And don't forget his classic cameo in "The Howling", when he gets in the phone booth and immediately checks the coin return. LOL or in Sharktopus when he's walking the beach with a metal detector. Frugal but never cheap. Rest easy, Mr. Corman.
Dave seemed genuinely impressed by Mr. Corman. This was a really good interview. Roger Corman also had a very distinct voice - he sounded a lot like George Takei does now.
Jonathan Demme cast Corman as the FBI director in The Silence Of The Lambs as a tribute to his mentor.😼

'Fitzcarraldo' is one of my favorite Werner Herzog movies. It blew me away the first time I saw it!
He made some of the best film adaptations of Edgar Allen Poe's writings. Just for that he should be remembered as a great filmmaker.
No man was more responsible for so many illustrious careers in filmmaking as Mr. Corman. R.I.P., Sir!
RIP Mr Corman. You were an amazing man
We’ll miss you more than you’ll ever know Roger. Thank you so much for everything. RIP
RIP, sir. Gilbert Gottfried is talking Roger's ear off right now. Many fond mentions on the Amazing Colossal podcast Gilbert and Frank Santopadre hosted for years.
The World's lost a true Legend of Cinema .
I would say that the world needs more filmmakers like Roger Corman but then again, if there were, the world might not realize how special he truly was.
Amazing producer, awesome legacy, great interview! A 60s kid, my nostalgic favourite of Roger's productions is the Corman-Poe series, with lots of campy Vincent Price.
Roger Corman, had a golden voice. RIP to the legend.
I sobbed when I read of his death. This man loved making films and launched so many great careers. Such a warm and down to earth man. R.I.P, Mr. Corman.
Mr. Corman was a classy gentleman it seemed. RIP
True legend.
He had such charm and a great voice, like a TV gameshow host or salesman.
"Some of the films really were done almost as jokes to see if we could do a film, to see if I could do a film in two days for thirty thousand dollars." And the answer was yes! He could, and he did!
I had no idea how charming Corman was. He’s like Mr Rogers if the Neighborhood was WeHo
What a soothing, cultivating voice
The East Village musical was an absolute hoot!
TBS, before they went on cable, was a local UHF station in Atlanta. They showed Little Shop of Horrors fairly often on the late nite movies in the early 70s. Long Live Gravis Mushnick! The best line in the movie: "FEED ME!"
Coreman & Letterman. Very interesting these two legends meeting. Both quite similar actually as they were both famously amazing at giving voices to many talented people in their respective fields. They even look like they could be brothers!!
I grew up watching your movies, many of which I have on DVD 📀, my thoughts and prayers are with you Roger, rest in peace my dear friend, God bless you.
Roger Corman was an institution who left an indelible mark on cinema. This is an end of an era and a sad day in film history.
Interesting interview with an important figure in American cinema. RIP.

Attack of the Crab Monsters is a classic. Also RnR HS
He apparently started as a messenger for Fox Pictures despite having an engineering degree, just shows how important struggle is . I've never seen any of his movies but now will binge watch all .

I don’t even care about films anymore because I know it’s all who can pay the most gets to play the most and movie stars are all stars because somebody put them there because they have more talent than anyone else. Which is why I don’t watch movies or televisionnews or any of it it’s all BS. Who can pay gets to be played

Even if this is totally true about Hollywood films there are lots of excellent foreign and independent films still being made and literally thousands of great older films readily available these days. Why ditch the entire thing because of the 1% that's new, popular, and bad?
