"Briefly stated, the Gell-Mann Amnesia effect is as follows. You open the newspaper to an article on some subject you know well. In Murray’s case, physics. In mine, show business. You read the article and see the journalist has absolutely no understanding of either the facts or the issues. Often, the article is so wrong it actually presents the story backward-reversing cause and effect. I call these the “wet streets cause rain” stories. Paper’s full of them. In any case, you read with exasperation or amusement the multiple errors in a story, and then turn the page to national or international affairs, and read as if the rest of the newspaper was somehow more accurate about Palestine than the baloney you just read. You turn the page, and forget what you know.” - Michael Crichton (1942-2008)

Nothing the democratic establishment likes more than having an enemy they can rally against, as opposed to trying to get people to rally behind them in favor of good things, because as we've seen with Biden, corporate democrat presidents won't deliver to the people and it's a lot easier to play offense than defense. At this point Corporate democrats are almost the same as conventional republicans like Mitt Romney, but having Trump lets them lower the bar of "lesser of two evils" and move the country even farther to the right.

While I disagree with Neil Young's stance on Joe Rogan, his stance is 100% pro free speech. Making this about free speech shows a fundamental misunderstanding of what free speech is.

I used to despise Joe Rogan, because I would watch some bits and pieces of his shows from some vegan content creators I would follow (years ago), because he hunts and such. Over the years I saw that he was having discussions with all kinds of people, even some "anti vegan" with "pro vegan" people. I started to gain respect for him because I think this is the right thing to do, and I started to listen to his shows more and more. I do not always agree with him but I respect the fact he has an open mind, that's the whole purpose of his show. We are all here to learn, to grow, if we stay "in our lane" too much, we miss the opportunity to at least receive different information, point of views and that is a detriment to all of us.

Then I saw an episode. And then I saw a few more. And now I've seen quite a lot and I think Joe Rogan is a little bit silly about health fads, but overall a surprisingly intelligent, thoughtful, genuine, kind and mature person, and his interviews are the best I've ever seen. I skip the sports people, because sports are boring, and I skip the comedians I don't like, but I am THERE for all the writers and scientists and political commentators. Even the right-wing ones. It needs to be mentioned that it's also capitalism that protects voices like Rogan and it's the perfect democracy ironically. What is more Democratic than how you choose to spend your money? Nothing is. Or your attention might be a better way to define it, and of course your attention is now the most precious commodity. Think about that. It's a giant white pill. Human nature is still king and it's filled with magic as well as brutal realities for instance capitalism and true free markets is the best option. I say the best, not perfect. There are questions for which we just do not have perfect answers, just better and worse ones. A free market will have lot's of victimization and the truth is it will be up to the the 'perfect democracy' to stop them. By which I mean if the behaviour of a certain corporations bothers you , stop using their product. And if most people don't then that's the bitter reality of people and of democracy. So in closing, how invulnerable would Joe be in a country where the state could shut down anyone they deemed harmful?

Joe Rogan is so popular because he is NOT close minded, NOT a racist, and NOT shallow. Instead he IS a comedian first and foremost so he calls it like he sees it. That's the very definition of a comic. He literally enjoys the dialogue and is not scared of having people with viewpoints different than his own on his podcast. He gives his audience an authentic and honest approach to the relevant topics of our time and fact checks on the podcast. He is a fighter as well so he is used to being humbled and using setbacks to get better...MSM is full of talking heads who are actors and frauds who cry and complain about adversity. Joe Rogan earned his way to a big contract to do his show; he is not a corporate shrill paid to brainwash and deliver misinformation. If he is spreading disinformation by all means go on his podcast and do three hours with him and tell his audience about all of the "good" information we are so desperately deprived of.

I was a Democrat for a long time, live in Brooklyn Nyc. I stopped watching Cnn years ago before I even knew Joe Rogan existed and there’s a simple reason, they are just paid advertisement who don’t give the facts and instead steer their audience. I’ll take Joe Rogan anyday over them. Neil Diamond I’m done with you, won’t hear even one song. Freedom of speech is in peril in the US due to news media such as Cnn. Joe Rogan will go down in history for years and decades to come cause he showed us all how to break the narrative and what freedom of speech looks and sounds like.
