if you keyboard doesnt appear hold the back right trigger(M1) and press up on the D-pad. had it happen with ubisoft launcher and rockstar.

Far easier way is to buy an external enclosure when you buy the new drive. Then clone the new drive with Macrium Reflect. That way you wont lose any data like games and saves. I just installed my drive, turned on the rog ally and everything was the same.

Do you recommend putting in new SSD out the box before booting everything up for first time? Also can you put the old 512gb SSD in enclosure and use it externally or something to save and play downloaded games? Thanks

i think u should first boot up with the factory SSD just so u can see if everything works well. Yes u can put the factory M.2 ssd in an enclosure and use it to play games off it.

What’s the INCORRECT way? All the others show this exact same way - or cloning the vnme with Macrium Reflect (to avoid all the bloatware unistallation work) or to do this cloud recovery method? So what are those others doing wrong, if THIS is the correct way?

The incorrect way is to not show to set the bios time . If u skip that part the recovery wont download. :-)

Can I swap the SSD with a new before the whole startup and set up? I mean like straight out of the box

Normally u can, because u can use the internal bios setup to download windows , make sure u put the right date and hour otherwise it won't download

Same concept when saving files on a flash drive but you can transfer to pc to keep them still right?
