    the price is way too high for the current quality of models. 99.9% of these can't be used in anything professional and would need significant work. It would probably be faster to just make them from scratch than try to fix them.

    Photography is "lazy", I mean, you just point a camera and take pictures, right? And don't even get me started on digital art. These lazy people can't even be bothered to MIX THEIR PAINT and have a PROGRAM do it... Putting the sarcasm aside, AI is simply another lense for human creativity. The outcome of mediocrity is a user fault, not the tool itself.

  • @LinRinku

    @LinRinku

    13 күн бұрын

    @@winxpusr Lmao, that's fair. I'm more so disappointed in CGDive for promoting such a tool. One could argue that it's a "good first step" for artists, but honestly, I think it'd be far better to start from scratch to learn from the experience, make much better results, and feel more gratified for the work you actually put in to say "I made that!" instead of letting a machine do the work. Like, what's the point of making art with Gen AI? For clout to say you "made something amazing"? Waiting to see "pretty" things from key words that some people claim to be hard to do and "as much work as real artists"? Why can't we put more attention and effort into tools that help with the tedious, repetitive processes in art instead, so artists can put more passion into the bigger things? Like filling up flat colors in 2D animation so you don't have to go frame by frame over and over, adding lines in posed faces like Spider-verse so they can focus on other aspects of animation, using a auto select in software like CSP, and so on. And even then, a human would still need to tweak what the tools did to complete their art. Generative AI takes away the life and connection to a human being behind the art, stealing from actual artists who, more often than not, do not consent to have their works put into a machine that spits out amalgamations of images, audio, or text. That's not even touching on how much it costs the environment to make these abominations. Sorry to reply with a paragraph, lol, but as an artist myself, I'm just saddened to see people that I used to follow, who share knowledge and helps others, turn out to side with Gen AI garbage. You'd think they'd understand why this stuff is not good, but I guess not.

    You don't have to predict the future to already see the negative effects of AI "creations". Portals like Pinterest have been completely flooded by them, destroying the point of using the portal for many people. Artstation managed to defend itself thanks to a boycott by artists who forced AI products to be tagged. If the same thing happens to 3D... currently, several to several dozen new games are released every day. If AI produces mass models at the click of a button, there will be 5 times more of these games, not to mention 3D animations, of which there will also be a ton. No one will be able to manage it, good works will be lost under the pressure of trash.

    Loving the comments like "We'll be out of jobs" "AI is advancing fast" or hate towards this type of machine learning. 1. Many artists today are out of jobs anyway because of studio closures, market shifts, and the economy. 2. It's literally the beginnings of anything remotely resembling to an "AI". Anyone calling machine learning "AI" should refrain from commenting dumb things. It's a marketing term. 3. As a 3D artist working on projects from A to Z, I wish there were tools like automatic assets, automatic animations, automatic everything. I love doing all the technical aspects, but at some point it's repetitive and tiring. I want to spend more time on creativity rather than solving problems all day. So far the first models can imitate humans, create terrible fake images, and now also some form of 3D that you have to manually clean, making this tool a good retopology base, or just useless for now. Thank you Todor for making quality content. Relax people!

    Thank you for sharing! I was wondering if something like this existed. It seems useful to a certain extent. Ignore the nay-sayers. We can use AI to help us create we just have to be careful to use our own creativity and not to rely on it for everything. I don't see it taking away creativity if it is used to speed up technical processes. Cutting edge technology is the future and we should embrace it, even if it makes some people uncomfortable. All technology evolves. If you make digital art, you have to evolve along with the software. If you don't want to change, then don't be in the business of making digital art. At first I was against AI, but it isn't going anywhere so we have to get used to it and use it for our benefit.
