I worked at an AMC for a year, this is just the tip of the triangle. The “cleaning” between movies is sweeping the visible popcorn off the floor and picking up large trash. We don’t have time to do any more because there is a lot of theaters to clean in a short amount of time.

Honestly. I've worked at a movie theater before and full thorough theater cleaning is done at the end of night, not between showing. We don't have time to clean every inch of every seat if a next showing is in 30min. If people expect us to clean better, they should stop leaving trash on the seats and actually throw it in a trash can. 😡

Solution: Switch out mice traps once a week and take many hours to throughly clean the theater. ITS NOT THAT HARD PEOPLE!

As a former AMC employee I can say this is very common. We were told to sweep trash under the seats until the end of the night and then we were told to clean them but depending on the shift lead would depend how clean the theaters were. We had numerous complaints but the managers never took them seriously.

I talked with an amc employee about a year ago and they told me that they don't have enough time to deep clean between showings. Sometimes they only have about 20 minutes to clean and remove trash. So they'll simply brush all of the trash and food under the seats. They only truly clean the seats and carpets after business hours so they told me to always see an early showing if you want the cleanest theater. :)

Long ago when I was 7 years old, I had a severe case of stomach flu and I threw up in a movie theater, in two locations, then all the way up the main aisle and through the lobby and across the parking lot to my dad’s car. Must’ve been horrible for whoever it was who had to clean that mess up.

Ok so, my brother works at a movie theater and what a lot of people don’t know is that they have a schedule they need to stick to for each movie. There is only so much cleaning you can do in that time frame. A lot of people also don’t know is that there is a trash can at the end of every movie theater so you can throw away your garbage yourself.

I am so glad that I don't go, never gone, and never will go to movie theaters.

Rachel Ornelas - it is but to a point. They should have to go under or in seats to get all the stuff. They shouldn’t have to scrap gum off backs of or under seats. Not to mention sodas spilled on seats and floors. That have a limited time between shows. They can’t get it all, check every seat. A quick sweep with some washing of the backs of chairs is all they have time for. I think it’s the reason a lot of theaters have cement floors instead of carpet. Easier to hose down at the end of the day.

I just got back from a week in Florida and I am so excited to watch Lisa confront things

@Inside Edition I went to the movies recently and there was a colony of bats (Chiroptera) at my local theater. One even passed above my head. Please do a story about this!

Honestly they just found 2 bad AMC theaters to put on blast for this video. The one where I live is really nice and super clean. Each room practically looks brand new

I used to work at amc. They only give you 2 minutes to clean the entire theater. Usually 1-3 people to clean the entire theater room in 2 minutes.... we just clean what we can

It’s funny how I never expect it to be clean because I always see so much popcorn on the ground
