Mom of Boy Dad Made Run on Treadmill Before Dying Speaks Out

The heartbroken mom of a 6-year-old boy who was forced to run on a treadmill by his father before dying is speaking out. A video shows Christopher Gregor ordering his son, Corey Micciolo, to run on a treadmill at high speeds. Twelve days later, prosecutors say the little boy died from "chronic abuse." His mom blames not just Gregor for Micciolo's death but she also blames the system that she says ignored her pleas for help. Inside Edition's Ann Mercogliano has more.

When I first saw the title of this video, I thought it was a father who was really into sports and pushed his son too hard. It now appears to me that this was some kind of sadistic punishment, and the father was deliberately trying to hurt his own child. This is NOT what it is to be a father.

@@gdc6153 The commenter obviously means that the father would be significantly less culpable (morally) if this was just an accident of nature -- say the boy had an undiagnosed heart condition, or was simply pushed to exhaustion -- and died during a programme of hard training for some mutually desired ends (say both father and son enjoyed and actively pursued sports), than as in the present case where the exercise was inflicted solely as a source of punishment and was imposed sadistically e.g., the boy was forced to continue running on the treadmill even after having fallen off it several times, which resulted in physical internal and external injury. There is clearly a difference in the two examples laid out. It might be said that in the former the father still IS culpable, but the latter case falls further along the spectrum of severity. It's funny that you tell OP to rethink his comment when you clearly have not put a lot of thought into the matter.

@@DagothUr3672 Gregor inflicted blunt-force injuries on Corey the day he died as punishment after the boy's mother was 14 hours late bringing him home, assistant Ocean County prosecutor Christine Lento argued. So it seems the gym incident just shows the abusive nature of his father but not directly connected to his death. I guess this is the only recorded evidence they have of abuse so they use it. But its confusing for us because the assumption is this is what killed the boy and that's why they're showing the footage.

To the folks blaming this on the mother. She did attempt to file emergency custody on her kid after finding out about the treadmill abuse, they denied her request and forced her to share joint custody with the dad. She can't just ignore the order either where she would get arrested and lose custody of her child anyway It wasn't the mom who neglected the victim, it was the state.

Then with the other accounts the mother mentioned, it would either add up or not whether it was intentional. You would need to determine if it was intentional just at the time, or if it were pre-meditated. And you would need to find a motive that fit as well.. THANK YOU. She did. She was very irresponsible and clearly didn't have custody for a reason. There was another man who helped raise Corey until he was 4 years old because he was under the impression Corey was his biological son 😳 she's a mess. Both her brother and sister/the victim's aunts and uncles were heavily into drugs as well. Unfortunately the uncle passed away of a fent/opiate overdose about 2 years after the death of Corey. It's all very sad. Corey never really had a fighting chance for a good life or outcome. The Aunt, Nicole M was a very aggressive and nasty girl as a young child herself as well. If kids act like that while still in their primary school years you can bet there's problems and issues at home. Whole family is a disaster/mess. The parents utterly failed their children. *These issues started long, long before Corey was murdered or even born*. Mom even reportedly partied through previous pregnancies she had as a teen. Of course there were no babies to show for it though, since Corey didn't have older siblings. Thankfully. Better than having a child born with delays or prematurely because of her irresponsibility though, I'll give it that. But still, this happened. Utter parental failure, across generations.

She reported Corerg’s bruises and injuries to the hospitals, police and child protective services over 100 times! She also had FULL custody until she sought out financial aide from the state to take care of Corey. The State forced the r&apist dad to pay child support payments so he fought for custody because he didn’t want to have to pay child support.

When she tried to get state benefit help when child was 4/5, they required paternity test and notified father/monster. His parents basically made him fight for full custody and he was granted it. She did get help for her drug abuse and followed all the things the court set for her to do. But she reported her son's abuse over 100 times and nothing was done. Absolutely heartbreaking. That guy just wanted control and someone to take his anger issues out on. He never cared about that child.

I watched this video from Turkey. As a father of a boy, when I watched this video, I experienced intense nervous trauma for about 5 days. It seriously damaged my psychology and mood. I am so sorry for this child's mother. I would be very happy if I could do this woman a favor or gift her something. Yes, that child will not come back, but I think it is the responsibility of every parent to make the woman feel good. Even though it's been a long time, wherever I see this news, it really affects me deeply. Who knows how the child's mother feels. As for the child's father, I wish I could apply the street rules of the country I live in to him. As a Muslim, the only thing I seriously hope for is that this child is in heaven right now. And since I cannot be there due to fate and cannot prevent it, all I have to do is remain silent. I would really like to prevent this.

She was on drugs and didn't get custody of her son, her mother was awarded custody for a reason. Moms whole family/both siblings were on drugs. Another man thought Corey, the victim, was his biological son until he was 4 years of age. Mother was reportedly pregnant as a young teenager taking drugs and partying while knowingly pregnant because she knew she wasn't going to keep it. Sad but just so irresponsible. That’s what I did! In 2015 my abusive ex filed a missing person’s report for our baby and I even though he knew I left while he was at work. The cops called me after I crossed state lines and said something about his story was hella fishy and I had done nothing wrong. They said I did the right thing to protect my baby and if he had a problem he’d have to take it to court. I have never regretted it once in my life.
