1984 was a good year for me. I turned 21 that year and I got so drunk, I didn't remember getting home. And, I definitely don't remember peeing on myself either, but I did and I'm glad I had a good friend to bring me home and then came back the next day to see how I was doing. I thought I shouldn't mention the " accident" I had on myself, but he already knew about it, lol!!! Damn, I miss those days, I really do. Sigh.🫤😢😊

Some guys have all the luck Some guys have all the pain Some guys get all the breaks Some guys do nothing but complain Alone in a crowd on a bus after working, I'm dreaming The guy next to me has a girl in his arms, my arms are empty How does it feel when the girl next to you says she loves you? Seems so unfair when there's love everywhere but there's none for me Some guys have all the luck Some guys have all the pain Some guys get all the breaks Some guys do nothing but complain Woo woo woo Woo woo woo Someone to take on a walk by the lake Lord, let it be me Someone who's shy, someone who'd cry at sad movies I know I would die if I ever found out she was foolin' me You're just a dream, and as real as it seems, I ain't that lucky Some guys have all the luck Some guys have all the pain Some guys get all the breaks Some guys do nothing but complain All of my friends have a ring on their finger, they have someone Someone to care for them, it ain't fair, I got no one The car overheated, I called up and pleaded, there's help on the way I called you collect, you didn't accept, you had nothing to say Some guys have all the luck Some guys have all the pain Some guys get all the breaks Some guys do nothing but complain But if you were here with me I'd feel so happy, I could cry You are so dear to me I just can't let you say goodbye Woo woo woo, Woo woo woo Woo woo woo, Woo woo woo Woo woo woo, Woo woo woo Woo woo woo, Woo woo woo Woo woo woo, Woo woo woo Woo woo woo, Woo woo woo Woo woo woo, Woo woo woo

Haha, same here, it's one of my favourite songs. It's funny to hear him lamenting about his lack of GFs. The opposite is true, in real life he had no shortage of GFs & wives! I have covered a few of his songs, but so far I'm not brave enough to cover his "risque" songs for fear of giving the wrong impression about me. I'm actually a "goody-two-shoes 😁Hmm.. I might try covering "Da ya think I'm sexy"!!
Yesterday in Belgrade I heard the song during Rod s concert
Rod Stewart was my grandma's absolute favorite, 7 years ago today (February 15th, 2014) was when my grandma took her last breath, & my last memory of her was so heartbreaking since she was so sick & so medicated up. Every year for her birthday as well as the anniversary I play Rod Stewart. I love & miss you so much, grandma 😥

We live in a culture where people want results, people want to be impressed on the very first try, and people will dismiss a singer or a band if one of their songs does not catch their attention greatly. Today's songs have to have something sexy asf or something to say OMG to. Back then, people would listen to the radio, listen to songs from beginning to end, developing a love for even the slow songs. Today's music has to be sensational from the start, or people will tune out. Things will only get worse as record companies will demand more purchases more listeners that will buy, buy, buy those songs.

@@joebeta1837 I would agree that style is more important than substance these days but I wouldn’t call today’s music sensational by any means. Almost everyone and every song sounds the same. Joe my friend ur so true IAM old school rock, rnb, country,n rocknroll lolol✌️🎶👈 Rod Stewart fan 4ever💯
I felt like I was the luckiest guy, in the World, finding my wife and marrying her, in 1984. I still feel I am the luckiest on Earth, today in 2022, with her still by my side.
[Chorus] Some guys have all the luck Some guys have all the pain Some guys get all the breaks Some guys do nothing but complain [Verse 1] Alone in a crowd on a bus after work and I'm dreaming The guy next to me has a girl in his arms, my arms are empty How does it feel when the girl next to you says she loves you? It seems so unfair when there's love everywhere but there's none for me [Chorus] Some guys have all the luck Some guys have all the pain Some guys get all the breaks Some guys do nothing but complain [Verse 2] Someone to take on a walk by the lake, Lord, let it be me Someone who's shy, someone who'll cry at sad movies I know I would die if I ever found out she was fooling me You're just a dream and as real as it seems, I ain't that lucky [Chorus] Some guys have all the luck Some guys have all the pain Some guys get all the breaks Some guys do nothing but complain [Instrumental] [Verse 3] All of my friends have a ring on their finger, they have someone Someone to care for them, it ain't fair, I got no one The car overheated, I called up and pleaded, there's help on the way I called you collect, you didn't accept, you had nothing to say [Chorus] Some guys have all the luck Some guys have all the pain Some guys get all the breaks Some guys do nothing but complain [Outro] But if you were here with me I'd feel so happy I could cry You are so dear to me I just can't let you say goodbye
Alguém ouvindo esta relíquia em 2024???????

Rod Stewart Some Guys Have All The Luck 🍀 1984
Rod of course never had an issue with the ladies, but in this song he sings with enough emotion in his voice that he convinces you that he is actually that guy. For those of us that weren't the jocks or the tall guys we certainly could relate to this song back in the day.

I was a small child then but I was already instantly hooked to this song. Forever. 🙂 In NYC when this was regularly playing on airwaves, a very popular FM radio station used the instrumental as their TV advertisement. Every time it played on tv, oh man, it hit the heart. I tried to find that commercial on KZread but unfortunately still no luck.

I sooo related to this song in my teens during the 80’s! Music said what we didn’t know how to articulate, while comforting us knowing we weren’t alone while we danced to the lonliness. Hahaha… I got her though! It’s been 25+ years and going…
