I played this song at my wife’s funeral. She passed away in March 2012 at 45 from cancer. She loved Rod Stewart and we saw him live in concert about a year before she died. It would be our last “date” ever. She was in a great deal of pain and had a feeding tube but I could tell that she really enjoyed Rod’s (and Stevie Nick’s) performance. I love you Lorraine and miss you more every single day. Your legacy lives on in the four wonderful children you brought into this world. You will truly be forever young in my heart.

My heart goes out to you. I feel you, and I can understand you miss her so well. The only comfort I can give is to say that the missing stays, but in time you are going to cherish the warm memories you made together. They will comfort you and help you get back on track, by taking baby steps and living one day at the time. Two years ago I lost the love of my life, after being together for over 40 years. I was totally devastated, felt so cold and empty. Never expected to be a widow at 64. Now, 2 years further on the track, I can say life had its way of healing. Music and memories were my greatest comfort, next to my children ofcourse, and my grandchildren. I hope you have some great people around you to comfort you. Dear Dan, I hope that you have some good people around you and I wish you all that is good in this world.

Today is my Dad's birthday. This was our father and son song. He passed away three weeks after his 77 birthday on Dec 2, 2019. I miss him so much.
I played this song for my 3 boys back in the early 2000's. They thought it was corny because it wasn't rap music. I'm black and used to be hood and "affiliated " but i strive to be a better man EVERYDAY. I hope one day my boys will listen to the words and understand where i was coming from when i had them listen to the words.

For 10 years I fought with God to have a baby. When I finally told God I am done begging and tried to walk away, I was informed one month later that I am expecting. This song I have played every day for my beautiful baby boy. It became our song. When we fought about life and whatever came our way, we would play this song to each other. Now my son, Logan, is getting married in October 2023, 33 years later and this is our choice for our Mother & Son dance. Thank you Mr Stewart for us to have this and God bless.

My best friend was killed by a drunk driver in 1992. He was on his motorcycle, and got hit by drunk in his pickup at 1 in the afternoon. The ass_ole got three years in prison.
My dad died 18 years ago at 37 when I was 3 years old,I don’t remember him at all. His favorite singer was Rod and, thanks to him,my mom became a fan too so I grew up with Rod’s music. This song is beautiful and heartbreaking at the same time because I think about the moments I couldn’t share with him and although my mom gave me everything there’s a “hole” that nobody can replace or complete. It’s been a while since cancer took his life but as I get older,it hurts more.
My dad passed away today. He loved to sing karaoke, and this was one of his favorites! He sounded exactly like Rod Stewart, and everyone loved his singing! 💖💔

I've set up a ofrenda in my house so she can be with her brothers and father. October I light candles and set out fresh marigolds so they can visit. It's a Mexican holiday..Dia de los muertos. Since she passed away at our house in Ensenada I have brought this to my home. I see her everyday and I smile. I try my hardest to live up to what she asked of me. "Be kind and loving. Dont cry for me but celebrate me." So I do the best I can. Thank you for listening and your thoughts. With much love Leroy.

We lost my dad over ten years ago. One gem of wisdom he told me while raising his finger to his forehead, he said “staying young up here is the easy part, but it’s the most important part.” He meant it. As a teenager, our house was the place all my friends wanted to hang out because my dad did the same stuff we did; he was one of the biggest kids I knew and we loved him for it. As long as he was physically able, he hiked with us in the woods teaching us the names of the trees along the way. Sadly his old body gave out, but he was always “forever young”. My brothers and I have all chosen different paths in life, but one thing we all have in common is our inherited love for life. I feel bad for the people who grow old before their time mentally. I’m in my 60s now but my wife says she still has one kid at home…one big one, but she wouldn’t want me any other way.

This was the song for my oldest son when he left the state. Unbeknownst to either of us we asked this song to be played for the mother son dance at his wedding. I found a poster on line years ago with the lyrics. I purchased it and had it framed. After visiting him, right before leaving for home, I hung it on an empty space of the wall. For my birthday, that same son bought me ticket to see Rods concert this past August. As always, he sang, Forever Young. So meaningful. Melts my heart ❤️

I hope that whoever reads this is having a nice day and if you’re sad, that you will have a better day ❤️ This song was a hit when I was in the 6th grade..I’m now 45 and for some reason, I was yearning to hear the words ...they mean so much more now than how it made you feel, during your days of youth. I realize more than ever how life goes by so quickly n that our children grow up even quicker, n that sadly, our parents are getting “old”... Much love and healing to everyone who’s here bc they’re missing someone they loved ❤️

I love this song too much. It reminds me of my Mom, she died very young at age 40. I am 42 myself, when I was approaching 40 yrs I was so scared and worried that I will die before 40yrs or at 40 yrs like my Mom. I shared my fear with few people and I prayed against that spirit of fear. From that day I declared that no premature death will happen to me or my loved ones, that I will live a full life like God intended when I came to this world. Now this minute I declare to you who is reading this ! That you will not die prematurely, that you will accomplish all that you have always desired, that your loved ones also will not experience premature death, that you will live full life according to God's plan and will. Stay blessed ❤️.
