Can't figure out why your dribble 's don't look like the pros in Rocket League?
I will be covering some topics that I have not seen talked about very much. There are a few main tricks when it comes to control, and a lot of people seem to overlook these parts of what it takes to get that higher level of control. Hopefully this is able to help you improve when it comes to your car and ball control. The pros have insane control and dribbles and a lot of it comes from practicing these tricks. So hopefully the tips in this video can help you dribble like a pro!
Thanks for taking the time to watch, like, comment, and subscribe :)

    i have no idea how youre getting the ball to bounce so high up when you first hit it to initiate the dribble. everytime i do, it doesnt bounce high enough for me to get under it, or it bounces too far as ive hit it with too much speed. almost seems like the ball is heavier than when this video was made, but i doubt its that. im looking at your inputs and im doing the same. taking note of how you hit the ball and how you place your car when you catch it and i cant even get close to replicating anything like that. surely the bounce mechanics arent that fine tuned for something as simple as this. using the regular octane and the zsr version. same results (edit) just tried the artemis, had considerably easier time getting the ball to bounce upward and onto my car. it definitely seems more suited to that than the octane. this is all in freeplay btw on "kickoff"

    keep your whole car in the white circle under the ball, eventually you wont have to think of it as much and you may not even have to keep your entire car under the ball, also try to keep the ball in the center of your car like Virge said.

    Just Kyrix so, to summarize, you’re lazy and would rather spend your time in casual or trading than actually just putting in the “work” By yourself in training. Oh but wait let me guess, it’s too boring to play unless you got “your partner” I hear this all too often and 9.5/10 x these players stop playing shortly after. They have badass stuff but if you never get better there like playing the same Pac-Man over and over and sometimes winning sometimes losing Would get boring quick But when you “unlock” all these new skills and mechs and play styles and strats and repeating the cycle of kicking ass until you can’t anymore then figuring out why and figuring out how to learn those new skills then learn them then how to implement them jntob

    I never comment on these types of things, but I have watched a lot of videos on this and this is the first to provide me with the info I actually needed. I never realized how little I needed to move the stick to do so much, so you pointing that out was actually a major breakthrough for me. Same goes for the gas and boost (though I knew that to some degree, your explanation helped me grasp it more.) Can't wait to see future video, especially if you go into the same detail and analysis you did here.

    I was amazed on the little stick movements too, but also the tapping of gass instead of putting it at like 50% and adjusting it. Verge, if you see this can you explain that?

  • @Virge

    @Virge

    5 жыл бұрын

    Hey michaelstar! Thanks for the question. Just want to address this because it’s a common mistake (not upset by any means because I understand the confusion) but my handle is spelt as “Virge” :D It’s not a tapping of the gas, more so a controlled pull and release. It’s important to make use of the range that your trigger gives you. Most people full gas and don’t look back! In the instances where I’m quickly pulling and releasing gas, it just means I need gas, and then when I know I’ve used enough (sometimes you only need a little) I release

    Like you said, there are a million videos showing how to do dribble. Figuring out HOW to dribble even without videos is a breeze, but it’s the intricacies that add up to determine whether you can perform a given mechanic effectively. Sure, you can spend hundreds of hours slowly figuring out these intricacies/methodologies, but it’s nice to find a video that actually goes into these finer details. I gladly subbed. For once KZread algorithm did something good and recommended a smaller/newer channel with good content that I never would have found otherwise.

    Hey Virge! Just started watching your videos. They are great and really useful, even after bunch of tutorials from other youtubers. I'm still a beginner, don't even have a 100 hours of playtime, but thanks to my placement matches I'm in Gold I (which is wierd considering I was Silver II at the end of the previous season). I don't know if you made a video about this, but a struggle a lot with reading the ball and steering on the wall, and aerials. Any tips? Esspecially regarding getting more comfortable on the wall. Thank you in advance!😊

    This video is awesome and was exactly what I wanted. That first tip I feel will have the most impact as the 3000 turns per second is my attempt at dribbling... And your advise to boost into the air with confidence has changed my air ability sooo much. Also happy to see a kung pow reference (I guess when we joked about it in stream the other week the temptation was too much :P ) Hmmm... Other things? I'd love a video about the mental side - especially something like open net misses. My friends know that they have a better chance at defending the goal if they're not in it when I go to shoot... I have a better accuracy for shots on goal if I shoot from MY half of he field.... Anyhow great video. i look forward to more :D

    hi i learned to dribble by driving along side the ball and matching it speed i am now getting the ball on my car it took a long time but it came. the only thing now how do i transition to dribble in a straight line from this way of dribbling? as when i catch it im am constantly correcting because my car was moving from when i caught it. its so difficult to start the dribble going straight as i have moved my car in the direction i caught it. heeelp thankyou love ur vids they have changed my game.

    I just started playing rocket league since sep 2020 and I've been trying improve to get higher ranks. I'm not great at ball carry but I've found if you turn off ball cam and focus on the circle below the ball and center your car it helps.

    hey virge when I dribble with the octane the ball always seems to start rolling off forward so I give more throttle, sometimes I try boosting, but whatever I do the ball just rolls right in off the front of the car, please help, how to prevent this?
