Well I would rather trade with someone like that than someone from a trading site. Those are only good for buying and selling specific items that you desire, people there make trades to even make like 0.1 dollar profit. For casual trading in game guys are much better.

Man I literally lost over 25k creds cuz i got scammed and lost a tw octane, heatwave, crimson octane, and black standard. O o f. Now all of a sudden Rocket League is like haha lets make him feel worse and basically every game i get into someone has a TW octane :/

I fell for the 1v1 scam for a fennec, luckily I only lost 20 creds, yeah good tip I know it's sounds silly but don't trade late at night because you'll end up f**king yourself 😂😂😂

@@BoSFDeals I would rant about my dislike for scammers to friends and try and bring people who attempt scamming to their senses. It's not an on the surface topic which entertainers make it out to be. Real money is involved and it can be a life ruining addiction. Of course this video is intended to prevent scamming, and I have learned a few things to avoid. Which is better than nothing, but it could definitely be better.

My friend lost his unpainted Fennec because he was getting a "too good to be true" offer... for another unpainted Fennec. He lost all his other items too.

One of the current PC scams going around is a steam friend inviting you to a tournament, but it requires you to sign up and sign in with Steam. If you're already signed into steam they wouldn't ask you to sign in again. Friend fell for this last night and had items stolen. Had another friend almost fall in but he left as he was asked to sign in.

Someone I made friends with on rl was friends with me for about two months, he taught me stuff and helped me get better, I proceeded to get better items. Most valuable being a tw octane, he had been talking about buying so I thought he was going to which he was. But he texted me saying he wanted to try the octane because he was going to get one. I gave it to him and he said he was in a training with it, he didn’t have it on. This is when I realised what I had just done, next second he left the party and blocked my psn and phone number. After that I legit had a mentor breakdown. I still haven’t been able to get it back let alone even contact him...

Here's a little saying that I've acquired in the cyber-defense world about phishing: "If you suspect deceit, hit delete." You don't know the person on the other end of the screen, so if anything is out-of-the-ordinary at all, cancel everything you're doing and block them. Might seem harsh, but a lot of scammers and predators will use emotions (i.e. 'surprise' or 'feeling like you'll miss out', in these examples) to try and reel you in. Just cut the ties and know that you did the right thing. Thanks for making this video, Fluump!

When someone send you a website always test it by putting in a fake password, it will say you are logged in which is impossible. Now you know if a website is fake or not but try to make sure to not get in the website in the first place

Not always true. I got scammed 3 years ago from one of those phishing sites, I was really sus so i put in a fake password and it didn't let me through but when I put in my real one it asked for 2FA, I put in my code and all my stuff went out of the window. Always check URLs for any discrepancies and just dont log into steam from a random link no matter who its from. I got my link from my friend but he had been scammed and the scammers sent the link to everyone on his list.

Nope, the fake website could either give you an “error” or “pretend you are logged in.” Attempting to log in is never a good idea. The single best thing to do is not open any links from senders you do not know. Instead, open your browser and manually search for the website you are being directed to. And obviously, you should never input your log in information to any third party site.

I have had 2 occasions where people want me to "help them record a video for yt" and they say cancel the trade at 1 second remaining. They also say that I put up my best items and they put up nothing. And if it works, they walk away with the stuff. I always decline because I know that it is a certain scam.

I came across this guy who had no idea what he was doing, Could have very Easily scammed him for a lot. Thought him about prices and how they work and eventually I just gave him a lot for trash items.

Another one is, the “i put the item in” scam. Where the scammer says he has a good item in, and the the trade is just lagging but he actually has nothin in so he scams you for all of your items

Super helpful I’m always running into scammers & kids being scammed asking for help which sucks. I got scammed for being nice & giving away some items thinking I’m helping. Once he had items he flexed on me with tw cars & bms decals, all I could say was “nice” Definitely watch out & take your time 💥💥💥✌️ don’t get scammed

U forgot Something very important that I noticed now several times that some scammers try to sell you a Titanium White Fennec and then in the Trader Window it also says Striker certified. Again they just Switch the items to a unpainted Striker Fennec but its not too obvious and New. So people Out there buying tw Fennecs watchout!

Another to watch out for as a very new trader is to just make sure the items you are buying and non crate. I fell for that when I first started and didn’t know that if it is crated or part of a series or something it’s worth aLOT less

Literally just got scammed today with the fake website thing. I started trading last week and had no idea. I literally put 20+ hrs into trading and went from 300 credits to 1700 and lost it all + all the items I got along the way. It is so painful tbh but live and learn

I wish I had seen this video earlier. Back when I first started, about 5-6 months ago, I was able to trade up after watching some videos. I didn't have anything special. Just Voltaics, Zombas, and a Sky blue halo. But, I was happy at the time cause I finally had some decoration on my car. Well, one of my online friends had invited me to this steam group and had told me that it was legit. It was a group that gave out free items. I got a message later on stating that i had won a heatwave decal. I got excited and put in my steam info cause It looked legit. Then nothing happened. I got a steam email that was russian on my phone. I then noticed that this was a scam to get my steam info. I quickly started working to change my steam password. I originally thought that they were gonna try to do the same and steal my account. Later on, i log back into steam and load up rocket league. The only Items I had were gone. I was kinda sad at the time as I went from nothing to having maybe 200 credits worth of items. Either way, I have learned from my mistakes and hopefully you guys don't make the same mistake that I had.

Another scam, this got me today: was in a 1v1 dude asked for my help in a tournament his tm8 internet died so I said sure why not, added me on steam and then sent me a link to the tournament I signed in with steam and the rest was history. He seemed like such a genuine guy. Site had fake Authenticator and everything.

another scam that happened to my friend was similar to the item swap but the only difference was while the item was offered he spammed texts in game and quickly swapped out the item. this was on console btw

I have never traded before, so this is good to know

I know I'm a bit late to this party, but one important thing to mention, is to make sure your steam guard and two-factor are active if you plan on doing item trades. In fact I think psionics requires you to have two factor in order to trade

The #2 mule one happened to me on PS4. Lost everything valuable. I contacted Psyonix and got some of the items back, but not all of them. They were all trade locked anyways. This was right after I got scammed out of white emeralds. He swapped em for grey ones and I lost a lot of value in that.

There is also another scam i encountered just last night(ps4), and I was playing with a couple of friends and one asked to take a screen shot of my items (I know not smart but I thought I knew the guy for like 8 months) .Anyway I put in my standards, zombas, and octanes and he says cancel at one. I always like to play it safe and cancel at 2 , and when we hit accept an item randomly appeared in his trade section that wasn't there before in the middle of the 5 second count down. Then when I went to cancel it didn't and instead it said do you want to cancel trade instead of doing it instantly. I managed to cancel the trade before he got my items. I dont know how he did it but just want to share this so it doesn't happen to anyone. Gl in your future trades and have a good day

Idk it’s easy to do I saw a vid on it an me and a friend tested it on each other with trash items and ya your fine if u know about it just cancel as soon as u see an item disappear

i fell for the too good to be true scam like 3 years ago the 2nd guy even pretended to have so sort of disability to make me feel bad completley swaying my mind from even thinking about if it could be a scam

I just got scammed today by 2 people working together to take my interstellar. It was all I had. It sucks and I hope that this video can help other people look out for scams. They are everywhere.

In the PS4 trading groups I always see someone asking to duplicate or saying they can duplicate with is bull. But we know that.

The blueprint scam has been tried on me multiple times and I just leave when they say "Do you want some blueprints?".

Sooooo, i was dumb enough to give my data to "RLdrop" or something like that i think and now some of my items are disappearing, i am on epic games. Can someone tell what i should do and if i could get them back ? Edit: I changed the password, but could i do something else ?

I got scammed the exact way in the first example and i was devastated, this was before i knew about any of this scamming and I have learnt more now but I was still so so sad.

I just got scammed yesterday for the first time, and now that I look back to it, the scam was easy to detect but didn't notice cause of my excitement. Basically the guy said 1v1 for tw fennec, with a 100 credit entry fee. As soon as I paid the "entry fee" he just left and blocked me.

Being a scammer myself, i can confirm all of these are true

i got scammed once by a kid and he said "lets do a trust trade you put in your best items then ill see if they are good and give you better items" i put in the worst items i had and said they were my best just cuz i wanted to get rid of them and the kid starts screaming "you just got scammed lets goooo" and his friend in the backround was like "hes on ps5 i dont think he cares" god i love rocket league

Someone tried the item swap scam on me when I was trying to buy a Diestro. Except our man was not exceptionally brilliant and instead of swapping the diestro he straight up removed it from the trade hoping I wouldn't notice. He instantly left the party when I unironically asked him if he was stupid

I once actually had a person that bought my Buffy sogo for such a good price. At that time it was worth 950-1050 and he wanted it for 1400 and made go up to 1600 and he actually did the trade the thing is he couldn’t trade his credits for 3 days so he could have found someone else for wayyy cheaper but he didn’t, I was very confused but still did the trade.

Almost got scammed with the "Item swap" method 2 days ago while trying to buy TW Fennec. The deal he posted on a trading site was a bit too good (5k credits instead of 6.5k credits) but because I come from another game with big trading scene I was well aware of these ancient scam tricks lol. Always triple check before accepting...
