i play 2-3 hours aprox by the quarantine xd, i have almost 600hours of game and i am in diamond III, so many times i tilted by toxic players and suddenly trolls, but i left the matches and do freeplay, just like Sunless btw

@@bilel415 this game takes quite a while to get used to stuff. You don't need to be harsh to yourself whatsoever if you are feeling disappointed with your performance lately. I remember start getting somehow decent at 800 hours of gameplay. I have been playing the game since season 3, and i do have around 3000 hours of gameplay up to now, and to be honest, it's just a matter of patience and being persistent to be able to reach your desired rank/skill level.

One tip I think is really key is to save your replays (wins and losses) and watch them form other players POVs. You get to see how you play from a different perspective entirely.

I saw Sunless at a grocery store yesterday. I told him how cool it was to meet him in person, but I didn’t want to be a douche and bother him and ask him for photos or anything. He said, “Oh, like you’re doing now?” I was taken aback, and all I could say was “Huh?” but he kept cutting me off and going “huh? huh? huh?” and closing his hand shut in front of my face. I walked away and continued with my shopping, and I heard him chuckle as I walked off. When I came to pay for my stuff up front I saw him trying to walk out the doors with like fifteen Milky Ways in his hands without paying. The girl at the counter was very nice about it and professional, and was like “Sir, you need to pay for those first.” At first he kept pretending to be tired and not hear her, but eventually turned back around and brought them to the counter. When she took one of the bars and started scanning it multiple times, he stopped her and told her to scan them each individually “to prevent any electrical infetterence,” and then turned around and winked at me. I don’t even think that’s a word. After she scanned each bar and put them in a bag and started to say the price, he kept interrupting her by yawning really loudly.

@@moatazyoussef9736 Eh. I'm a competitive person. If I'm playing solo, I'm playing ranked. I'd rather not play if I'm not competing for rank. The losses are tough to deal with at the time but unranked just doesn't compare and doesn't do much for my mindset. I want the game to matter. I want it to count. And the only way to come back is to keep grinding ranked. Just works well with my mindset.

@@moatazyoussef9736 I've tried. Going casual doesn't have that same edge and when I've played cross-platform I've gotten worse. Comps is where I've kept my edge but boy does it pop a vessel on my forehead. Casual just doesn't compare. You can warm up with friends and smash a lowbie pug group, then jump on comps and get demolished and wonder why you did so bad. Two different dynamics. But I do agree at playing another game. It has calmed me down and I return with a small bit of enthusiasm. I've always been an FPS nerd but for some reason, as Sunless has stated, it's an addicting game. Maybe because after a long day I can just hop on and play several rounds within an hour as oppose to a half hour long match of CSGO comps. I just want quick rounds and move on with my daily business. This game is an issue though and I need to go cold turkey lol

@@sigmafun3880 I'm in Champ 1 and sometimes I get good tm8s. Sometimes I get carried by god tierm8s and sometimes I get trash tier team7s. It's tough to be consistent at this game and also peoples playstyles often don't match up with yours. That's why pros like Leth are so good at adapting to opponent playstyles but also tm8 playstyles. Sometimes they trash though or throwing and you gonna loooose boooi!!

This! I happened to change towards this routine few weeks ago and my my, how much more fun the game has become. Single games of ranked don't matter anymore, only improving. This, and many other of your videos has been incredibly insightful to me, I have been playing for a couple years but have only just begun watching high level games, learning I could air roll was such a turning point for me... (I play PC with controller). Well put sunless. This video is also not limited to Rocket League you can use this theory with most competitive games. Rocket league is an easier game to decipher high level mechanics to low level mechanics but once you can spot difference between the two you can break down what you know and do not know and work on those accordingly. The biggest issue when it comes to competitive playlists is people think they are good and worry about others, when they are or can be the problem. Another good way to see what you are doing wrong is watch higher level game play then watch your own and see the differences between the two. You will catch what you are doing wrong when you would not realize it during play.

You can waste a lot of time not improving by playing with people who are better than you and boost you. Once you know how to deal with awful randoms, playing with a squad becomes even more satisfying.

@@_Stefo There are plenty of people that play competitive gaming in general where they will always blame their teammates. Friends, teammates, random duos. It will happen. I have improved by sitting back and seeing what mistakes I made or how i could have played different to allow the other player to do what they want. Somtimes it is the other players dont get me wrong. But ego is a major down fall in competitive gaming in my experience.

I'm was a plat 1 in doubles for so long, constantly ranking up to plat 2, then all the way back down to plat 1 div 1, and back up again. then one night I kept playing way too late into the night after work, and I ended up at gold 1 div 4. I turned the game off, got discouraged, watched some rl videos before heading to bed, woke up the next day, did a proper warmup consisting of 30 minutes free play, 30 minutes of the consistency and defensive situations training packs, 20 minutes speed jump: boost, and a run through the dribbling course. went into doubles and made it back up to my rank, and called it a day. 2 weeks later of this routine at least 4 days a week and I'm plat 3 pushing for Diamond. You'll definitely make it back and then some.

I did what u said about freeplay and it worked! I can't belive how much better I got, in areas that I had flaws in, im much better in now. It also helped me be more confident while playing Rocket League. Thanks for the tips, much appreciated!

So i jumped into freeplay after i had breakfast (its important kids, dont skip it!) And i was flying,driving flicking etc around for a good hour. after that i hopped into ranked. climbed all the way to C3 div3 and went down i was stuck at around 1450 with a peak of 1475, then after dinner i was like okay lets go one more time, and i won 2 games and lost one, then i won another 2 and after that i was like okay 1 more! and i just got to GC due to this video. Thank you for the positive vibes and your video really was an eye opener for me! Thank you SUNLESS!!!!

*I normally join private matches and meet champ 1s or Diamond 3s and that helped me because I learned my aerial games and learned about how to get good position at the right time*

There should be an option where you can turn off seeing your rank. It will be there but you just don't see it. It will help when you lose and don't see yourself get demoted.

you can at least turn off divisions, so you won't see an animation of ranking up down at all unless you lose a full rank. I did that for a while and it helped with my gamer rage.

I got you for getting out of bronze. Do the built-in trainings. If you can hit the ball in the air and get saves, you'll rank up pretty quick. If you want to look at rotation, pay attention to getting boost and staying behind your teammate when they're chasing the ball. Since you're in bronze, that will get super boring though, since people don't really start rotating until gold. If you rotate sooner, you'll rank up faster. I can't emphasize this part enough. Enjoy the game! The most important part of you getting better at something you're new at is to have fun while you do it. If you walk into the game and immediately focus on training to get better, you won't have any fun. Don't do much training at all for the first couple weeks or month. Complete the tutorials, then just spend some time playing until you have a drive to get better. Make sure you spend most of your time playing and having fun. You'll never get good at a game you don't like, and why would you want to?

Just make sure to learn how to hit the ball hard, you don’t need to train just yet. Enjoy the game while you are new, after a while the game gets repetitive and you don’t have as much “fun” as you used to. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a great game, but the fun you have just starting out is a better type of fun than in the average to high ranks

The most important thing imo: Motivation. You need to be able to enjoy the game itself while playing, not just the endscreen that says "your Team won!".

This is oddly the most helpful "git gud at RL" video out there. I was literally just in diamond 1 before this video. I followed his steps then went into ranked and got diamond 2. Insane how this worked.

The grind ruined my passion for the game. Its not the losses i won most of the time, but the game just became... boring. I think i need a break to have fun again in RL :/

The easiest and quickest way to get out of any rank is to constantly lose on purpose and you will be kicked out of that rank. It's that simple.

Thank you so much man! I am always stuck at gold, and when i go down to gold 1, i stop playing. I never go to freeplay, for me it's hell! I thought i can learn mechanics with time but i was wrong. Thank you man for putting me in the right path!

surprisingly, this video actually helped me. I began going to training before getting into a match or after i was done with a match before i got off and in 2 days i've gone up from silver 2 to gold 1. I've been stuck at silver since this game came out. just got back into it on pc, though. **Use Freeplay and spend time in there, you'll be surprised how much nuance your ranked game will have the more time you spend in freeplay.
