Rock-Shaped Pottery Sculpted in Clay - Timelapse bonsai pot

In this pottery timelapse, I sculpt a rock-shaped pot from clay slabs, showcasing the process of transforming a flat slab of clay into a textured rock-inspired pottery. Using a mixture of colored clays, I gradually shape the clay to resemble a natural rock formation, with intricate details and texture. This handcrafted ceramic piece is designed specifically as a pot for cascading pine trees or bonsai, offering a unique and naturalistic accent for tree display. The entire manufacturing process takes approximately 8-10 hours, culminating in a mixed stoneware pot fired at 1250°C. I demonstrate the art of slab pottery and sculpting textured pottery, exploring techniques for creating rock texture pots and crescent pots in this pottery tutorial.

Greg, bonjour, Ce travail est prodigieux !!! Je cherche depuis longtemps un pot exactement comme celui-ci et une ami du club de Maulevrier m'a conseillé de regarder ton travail. Je suis pas déçu !!! Je travail actuellement sur un gros et magnifique genévrier sabine et associé à ce pot ça serait juste parfait. J'espère pouvoir te rencontrer sur un salon pour discuter de cela et voir si c'est possible. Encore bravo !!!

Yes, I do regular mixing tests to find interressant colors, it is not obvious because the basic color is not many, and firing changes everything. This mixture gives a brown-gray that I like.
