    I recently went on a pottery workshop to try and make my own bonsai pot. Your videos make it seem all too easy, making a pot is far harder than it looks. All I can add that having tried to make a pot and now I know how hard it is, your work is even better than I thought it was before.

    When I made my first videos I wanted to show how difficult and long it is to make a pot, and I quickly realized that it had the opposite effect and that my videos gave this impression of ease. It's probably because I'm used to it and my movements are safe. For example I remember that for my first pots it took me a lot of time to crush the coils and make the welds without deforming the pot, today it only takes me a few minutes.

    @@Greg-ceramics Well your very welcome. I really hope that these videos catch on so you can continue to make them. I had some schooling in video and really appreciate the time spent on the animations! The little helper is sublime, as is the idea of the animation showing wich side your working on and finished item rising out of the slab of clay. The editing on attaching the feet I thought to be quite revolutionary! The whole video is just so professional and we'll made, you're really upping the level of instructional videos here. I'm really wondering if it's just you making the videos and how many hours went into the making of this particular video. Except for that I think the pots are stunning and I'm wondering how many trees I've seen in them on the Belgian bonsai show. I'll be looking for your name from now on, big fan!

    There is no specific time, it's a bit of a feeling. If you absolutely have to turn it over, you can put plates or pieces of clay in support. Most of the time I often put small wooden pieces underneath for the first days of drying.

    Hi. Great videos, I'm waiting for beginner to master series, even though I'm making pots for some time now. There's one thing that I can't understand - what is the purpose of internal edge? Doesn't it make more difficult to repot bonsai tree?

  • @Greg-ceramics

    @Greg-ceramics

    6 ай бұрын

    It's just a question of aesthetics, on certain massive pots, the thickness of the pot is too thin compared to the rest of the pot. I don't always use it, it depends if I want a very masculine pot, or if I want something lighter and feminine. It's never been a problem for me to repot. At worst, I use a blade all around the pot to help the root ball come out. In any case, it is the roots that will have to be pruned.
