That last speech was beautiful.. after winning the World Series in national TV (i think it was the first time on national TV that Spanish was spoked) Roberto said “ In the most important day of my life, Hi to my parents and blessings to the kids, also to my parents to give me their blessings” Orgullo Puertorriqueño

Roberto Clemente was also a United States Marine. He joined the Corps after the 1958 season ended and spent 6 years in the Marine Corps Reserve. Semper Fi Roberto

I just found out they will be honoring this wonderful man with a coin in 2026...El Grande..how perfectly fitting for the humanitarian, incredible athlete & father of 3 beautiful boys who emulate him in their own ways. What a legacy he left as well as his gorgeous wife Vera...he was taken from them way too soon. He was a beautiful soul & would be so proud of the men his son's have grown up to be. ⚾🌴🍀💚

I got to see him play as a kid. For the life of me, I don't know how he hit off his front foot while keeping his hands back and generating the power he did. Not textbook technique, but it worked for him. Orgullo puertorriqueno!

What a great player - hit, run, field, and one of the best arms of all time! A little context would have helped; hundreds of homeruns, why were these chosen?
