My boyhood hero. I’m 68 years old and sitting here crying like a baby. The immense talent Roberto had was only matched by his humility. So many great things in this video to comment on but I’ll keep it to just two. Everyone knows what a great hitter he was but he had, in my opinion, the best throwing arm in the game for years. The throw from right field to 3rd base on a line is incredible. His speed on the bases is also under appreciated. Loved hearing the voices of Bob Prince and Curt Gowdy. Thanks for the memories.

I live in Kentucky. I was born after he died. I got into baseball and read about all the great players the game produced. Roberto was different. He seemed smaller in size but made these incredible plays. I did a book report on him in first grade in front of the whole school. If he meant that much to me, a white kid from Kentucky who never saw him play, imagine what he meant to all those Pittsburgh and major league baseball fans who got to see him play every day! Clemente transcended baseball. There'll never be another one like him.

I saw Roberto Clemente play against the New York Giants and the New York Mets at the Polo Grounds. No one played baseball like Roberto Clemente. Hustle? He never hustled, because he always played at levels above hustle. In every moment he gave more than his all, not just to playing baseball, but to humanity. The Baseball Hall of Fame should include an annual enshrinement for players who lived up to the highest level of humanity. I can think of a few who are near Hall of Famers, but when you add their Humanity, they should be enshrined. Dominic DiMaggio was 4-F for the army, but managed to enlist into the Navy to fight against Fascism in World War Two. William Hoy, called "Dummy," was a deaf-mute who endured ridicule as a "freak," yet was perhaps the greatest defensive outfield of his time. They both belong in the Hall of Fame on their own merits, but add the Humanitarian aspect, and they Really Belong. Among recent players who had really good careers, but won't make the Hall of Fame, Curtis Granderson comes to mind, but he has dedicated himself and much of his fortune to humanitarian work. Anthony Rizzo, among current players, fall into this category. So, Baseball, let always honor Roberto Clemente by honoring those players who not only played baseball really well, but were even better at being Humans. Let's establish the annual Roberto Clemente Inductee to the Hall of Fame. Viva beisbol, and Viva Roberto Clemente para siempre!

I am yankee fan and yet a baseball fan . when i saw Clemente play in 1971 I saw and became a fan,and I saw the power of Baseball # 15,# 21,# 23 are my favorites
He gave it All to the game, you can see in these videos...And at the End he gave his life for a just cause...That was Roberto Clemente legacy!
My cousin was no joke. I was born a few years after he passed so I never got to meet him... but my family tells me great things. Plus did you see those throws to 3rd and home... wow.

I've been to Pittsburgh once. I'm from NY. Most of our family lives in NY, except for the ones who haven't left PR. Roberto was my grandfather's first cousin on my father's side. Roberto passed away a few years before I was born, so sadly I didnt meet him. He was an amazing ball player and I'm glad you all still appreciate him till this day.

@@cynthianaslim very well said and I agree. He wasn't just a hall of fame baseball player. He was a humanitarian. And passed away doing charity work.

He sure was one of the best! I used to go see him at Shea Stadium against the Mets as often as I could.
One of the best mlb players to ever play for the pirates. The late great Roberto clemente.
He fought for Latino and Black players' rights alike in an era where racism was at its peak, he never backed down on his beliefs even though his knowledge for the English Language had his limitations. On the field he was exactly like you see in this video, a lion preying for his victims. He was a great friend, a wonderful family's man and a better citizen, he will be missed always, RIP.
My childhood hero! Thank you so much.
El mejor de todos los tiempos los demás son los demás.
The Great One.....Roberto Clemente!!! ⚾
Some of the footage I haven't seen before, but all of it is great, thanks. I also have to say I never get tired of watching the great ones highlights.
A God unto outfielders.
Thank you for this video compilation. 🤗💚
Thanks for sharing. He is the all time greatest!
The Great Roberto Clemente
He played like he was on fire
Clemente The best Right Field..Ever!!
He could off about 12 straight pitches and then singles. I discover that he was "playing" with the pitcher as entertainment is more important than winning in his culture! Announcer Bob Prince either didn't understand this OR he kept his mouth shut!. Amazing
He just too good 😤
Puerto Rican for life family from Bayamon and San Juan Clemente the greatest ever
Me Puerto Rican we won number 21 retirement nobody use that number never❤❤🇵🇷👍
Never seen anyone turn their foot like that to hit. What a stylish player too- reminds me of DiMaggio.
It's crazy to stand up slide just to stop yourself after rounding first! What an athlete.
Watching that clip of his 3000th hit is so bittersweet.
my dad would tell me how he would go to forbes with his mom and watch the pirates and he told me unbelievable storys about clemente and how good he was
The all time greatest!!

I dont know if you just go around to various posts writing to impress and find praise to give yourself a sense of self worth... But this paragraph was truly finely written and effective in its expression. Moving. A true Tribute.
El mejor nadie lo supera
Boricua all day mayne proud to be puerto rican 🇵🇷
I was present at 3 rivers stadium the day Roberto got his 3000th hit and final hit……😭😭😭💕💕💕🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
His perfomance in the 71 series was dominant
At 4:59 is one of the few if not the only time Clemente wore a batting glove.
My Dad's Favorite Player 🇵🇷🇵🇷🇵🇷🇵🇷
WGN has the tape on Clemente's home run that just missed the scoreboard at Wrigley. It was a line shot and went out at the bottom left corner. They would play it every now and then.
Clemente Nuff Said. The names in the outfield on opposing teams Frank Robinson , Hank Aaron , Mickey Mantle
Greatest player ever. Idc what you guys say. Best all around player ever.
HE HAD THE ATTITUDE “ TOMA CABRONES “ HERE THIS ONE IS FOR YOU !!! AN ALL AROUND COMPLETE PLAYER IN MLB , “ THE GREAT ONE “ THE ONLY ONE ☝️!!! WE MISS YOU EVERY SINGLE DAY PAPO !!!

Did you see that Canon in 7:59. Wow, awesome Canon. Roberto will get you out.
I loved that chopped ball in the 8th inning of game 7. Roberto was very fast, Skowron was very slow, it was up to Coates to cover first and cover it fast. He didn't make it, a run scored, and the next Pirate hit a 3 run homer.

EL MAGNIFICO❤
Watching Clemente uncork that cannon of his gives me the chills.
🇵🇷🔥2️⃣1️⃣🔥🇵🇷 THE GREAT ONE! 🖤🕊️🤲🕊️💛 #Retire21 🐐
Retire 21!
my grand mother god rest her soul was a wonderful person and she took me to see the pirates play a few times when clemente played for them what a great player he was and an even better human being baseball should do the right thing by him and retire the number 21 league wide like they did jackie robinson. jackie was a great player and brave as hell but roberto gave his life to help other people that should count for something
Roberto Clemente biopic
I watched him play at Forbs Field. 😊
thak you
I have Bing Crosby's personal subscription issue of Clemente's only Sports Illustrated cover from '67.
All I gotta say is ….🇵🇷🇵🇷🇵🇷
Yeah let’s go
his bat speed is actually unfuckingreal.
I have my Roberto Clemente Weaties box framed and in my bar!
