Robert Mugabe: dictator's coffin paraded through national sports ground

Today's funeral for the former Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe in Harare had little of the pomp and circumstance he relished while in power.
Only a few African leaders turned up, and the National Stadium was less than a quarter full, as the government hadn't arranged transport and food for such a large event.

Why are the journalist in this channel focusing too much on the negative part of President Mugabes death and funeral. His decision of taking Zimbabwe back to its original owners was a great idea. Though his decision caused problems but the fact remains that he was and is the great president not only in Africa but globally. And president Mugabe was not a dictator. In most cases journalist reporting international news seems to be attacking Africa in various ways.

Only the ones that were on the receiving side of the golden handshakes. How about the millions who had to migrate because of his marxists policies that collapsed the economy and currency? Are the greatful? What about the ones who are suffering because Mugabe collapsed the health system? I agree that sometimes people make mistakes. People realise these mistakes and try to make amends. This was not Mugabe. Mugabe drove Zimbabwe back into the past destroying the social fabric while stealing billions for his family. Therefore, unethical and corrupt sums up the characterisation of this man. I truly hope that Zimbabwe learns from the mistakes of the past and in the next few decades builds itself into a prosperous nation.

@GMan5090 England could give back all the gold it stole and it would do nothing for the people, it will only enrich those in power. Botswana's way of life was interupted by the British too and compare the countries side by side. One of the reasons Botswana beats Zimbabwe by a wide margin in much lower poverty rate and good scores on every human health development index is they have possibly the least corrupt government in Africa vs one of the most corrupt. As a black man I'll say this, we can't keep blaming whitey forever for these predicaments, at some point we have to look at ourselves.

Really? A hero who ruined the economy while amassing a huge personal fortune? A hero who got North Korea to train his secret police? A hero who rigged elections, controlled the press, tortured oponents and even had them killed? An on and on. But go ahead and blame white people - must make you feel much better. Mugabe obviously felt better by blaming gays. Meanwhile in the real world, Zimbabwe is a 40 year old that really needs to grow up fast and sort out its problems.

You either adopt a real western parliamentary system or better yet American style federation that develops reap Rule of law and mutliparties beyond tribal identity or expect noting ever to be much different ..
