Thank you for bringing this in-depth coverage about the human disaster in Sudan. I have been posting for months comments across social media asking where are all the student protests for Sudan? I also have observed a strong reluctance it seems for Al Jazeera and others to come out and really state that it is Arabs RSF that are committing so much heinous "ethnic cleansing" of Black indigenous peoples. I just cannot fathom how people who claim to be Muslims could commit genocide against other Muslims on the basis of "race." A few years ago I worked with a brilliant Sudanese architect here in the States. She grew up in Khartoum, and her father at that time lived there and had a new agri business going. I lost touch with her, but I know she must be devastated at what has become of her country.

What the Rapid Support militia did against the African Masalit component is a crime against humanity. More than 3,000 citizens of the Masalit component were killed without regard for human rights. We condemn this heinous act and the community must be held accountable.

Those numbers are crazy! That many displaced people.

@@catalina5382 It's not a civil war but a conflict in the true sense of the word between the national army Sudanese Army and paramilitary RSF who has acted independently of the army. The conflict started over the army not wanting to intergrate the RSF into its unit due to the undiscipline RSF soldiers that the army has had trouble controling previous before the conflict broke out in April 2023

Probably mostly Soviet era, Chinese weaponry, Russian, Iran, lots of Soviet era AKs and weapons from Egypt, Libya, etc., they have millions of small arms in Sudan The RSF weapons are definitely tons of AKs, they are supplied by Chad and United Arab Emirates.
