A major problem, not only in Congo, but throughout Africa, is the politicians who are corrupted to the core. Most of the development aid the West sends to Africa goes into the pockets of these politicians. As a result, the infrastructure will not develop, there will be no foreign investments etc. It's sad that the ordinary people are suffering from this problem. And getting rid of corruption is very challenging which, unfortunately, doesn't look good for Congo and some other countries in Africa. I hope so much I'm wrong, but I'm afraid I'm not.

I am changing what I can, I am working hard in my own right to try and change the life of my people here in Kenya, I even vied with such a beautiful manifesto and attainable goals but the people have been poisoned by handouts, I could not clinch the seat. I wont give up though, in government or not, I am going to do my best to help because in the words of MLK, one day we are going to stand before the God of history and we shall be judged by our deeds.

I am from India and am here in DRC for a short stay of 7 days. This is my first time in Africa. People here are so friendly. But the corruption is a real problem here... As soon as I landed in Lubumbashi International airport I went for immigration counter.. there was an officer checking my passport and Visa. He was asking for an printout of an Document which I had as a soft copy. But I was not having it. The officer asked me to come closer and asked me like "Give me Money". I started asking why should I give money(with a little louder tone) he started to change the topic. So corrupted. But other than that I loving my stay here.♥️

I live in New York, born and raised and I thank the Lord he put me here, because I would've been a rebel in that country, probably would die for it. Today, no one throughout the world, should be dealing with hunger, sickness and etc.

uma Bakongo around the world I understand but he said "1 love from from Jamaica via Atlanta" but he is not in Jamaica, he is in the USA. It should be "1 love from the USA from a Jamaican living in Atlanta".

It reminds me of my late father then in the Army ..ln the 60's where the soldiers who crossed the Congo river safely back to thier homeland received a CERTIVICATE ...my late father framed it and its still hanging in our family home ....memories ...and now l am 60 yrs old ...God Bless Congo ...never did l dream or think of marrying an african man .. tribe from yoruba ...destiny ..thru life ...

Best thing i watched since ages. It brings a deep hole inside me after seeing their condition,hope for their good future btw i learn many things from this video...thank you for presenting reality in front of the world.

I grew up not far from beni in the eastern part of Congo, and I remember teacher telling us that our country is the richest country in the world, we have almost every mineral you can name in the world , my family is not a poor family, but when I was looking how people suffused around us ,I just felt really bad , in the future I want to teach my children just to work and hustle, never count on the so called minerals, maybe GOD gave us this land but didn't give us the minerals inside it .

What a beautiful country love to visit Congo, In Africa we blessed , time will come for Africa to reawaken

THEY ARE PLUNDERING ITS NATURAL RESOURCES: GOLD, DIAMONDS, COBALT ETC. UNTIL IT IS ALL GONE AND THEY WILL KILL ANYONE WHO LIVES THERE OR GETS IN THEIR WAY. YOU NEED TO SPEAK TO THE LEADERS. I remember when my Criminology professor recommended that I wrote my thesis on King Leopold of Belgium. I was shocked that I wasn’t taught about these things before. I guess it is a way to keep some people ignorant and myopic

Masha Zheleznov so what about the other aspects of the world? Most of my fellow classmates in Canada aren’t cognizant or knowledgeable of this. Most of them do not even know about the Starlight tours that happen in Canada against the Indigenous People so for you to say that is skewed to say the least. Unless you go out and search for these information you will not if ever see it in the news. Maybe, it is a way to deflect and negate the plights of others or it might be a coping mechanism for those in power 🤷🏽
