Put an ad up the other day for $22K, received a few funny offers, 3 weeks later a guy said he's happy with the asking price and there we go, sorted, no issues. This totally illustrates something I've been noticing for a while. Ever since the surge of computer hardware, everybody thinks resale should go up in value instead of down. Very strange times. Indeed they're all just waiting for some dummy to buy it. It is a cool GPU that has its advantages. Supposedly that HBM2 is good for Ryse as there's a stutter that can only be overcome with that gigantic bandwidth. If I collected GPUs like the 8800GT or 7970 or 980 Pro etc I would add a Radeon VII to that collection for sure.
@LeonardPutra

Beware, Radeon VII failure rate is pretty high, and the failure is on the HBM chip itself, so it is not repairable on most cases.

It's probably past the point where it's getting more expensive again due to its age and it's special place in the lineup. I'm trying to get my hands on a cheap 9800 (Radeon, not geforce) and it's almost impossible.

This is one of the best things LTT has done recently! More of this duo!
Anthony is a class act. Took every chance to insult the manufacturers and vendors over the owners lol.
I love these reacts! I know it must be pretty fun and fairly easy compared to some other extremely complex videos you guys produce, so keep these coming!!

Branding and scarcity also play a big part. Apple laptops are basically the opposite of framework from the consumer rights perspective and they also hold their value well.

@@Crusader1089 Sometimes used Framework laptops will sell for more than their MSRP though, and bidding wars ensue. The wait to get a new one from the next available production batch probably causes people who want one now to seek the used market out of convenience or necessity. Even with the 12th gen boards out now, you don't see many 11th gen boards sitting unsold for long because of the secondary use market Framework is intentionally cultivating.
I sincerely hope there will be more roasting of PCs on Craigslist/Kijiji, this was very entertaining.
What a coincidence lol. I Just posted my R5 3600 (wraith cooler included), X570 tuf gaming plus wifi, and G skill trident Z royal 2x8 16gb 3200 Cl16 for $300 all together last night. I was just checking out similar offers for sale and people were literally listing R5 3600's for $200 all over the place... Literally the original launch price saying "no low balls". Don't even get me started on GPU's lol some people still have them listed for what they were going for a year ago. I love browsing FB marketplace and seeing the most ridiculous offers lol.

The thing is that overpriced listings work. I spend very little for upgrading my PC, because I always find someone willing to pay oddly high prices for my old stuff. The buyers either seem extremely ignorant or they know that they are overpaying, but want this exact SKU and nothing else for some odd reason. Like their old motherboard died and they want the exact same board, because... reasons I guess.
Sometimes I go online to laugh at the prices by some people. My favortie ones are the ones that have "Only real buyers call. Don't waste my time if you don't want to buy" on their descriptions
I want a part 2 of this, this was great!

I have 128GB in my gaming system but I host a large ark cluster on my pc 24/7 and have had up to 96GB usage before in my daily normal use. I agree most people don't need it but why are they crapping on 128GB of ram so hard lol. Either way keep up the great content guys!

My thoughts exactly!! The prices, the paired components, fine... But i wouldn't buy or build anything with less than 128GB RAM for what I do... It's 100% crucial (but not Crucial, just necessary).

Same. I build machines for my production company, and 128 GB is standard, but we’re doing things like AI upscaling and huge file renders and usually still have lots left over. I cannot fathom why anyone would need over 32 in a gaming machine. Even that is overkill really.
@PsiliPharm2012

@@brandonwilson3507 considering how technology evolves and software demands are ever growing, this statement isn’t likely to age well. It’s like that quote attributed to Bill Gates where he is alleged to have said that “640KB out to be enough for anybody”. LTT even did a video recently suggesting that both the system architecture and the games themselves are starting to utilize more memory than they have before. And if you want to be able to game at high resolutions while simultaneously running Chrome, Discord, OBS/Twitch and other popular streaming apps which can use up a good chunk of memory, then having some “head room” isn’t a terrible idea. If you’ve ever encountered a memory leak in a game or any other application, then it’s also better to have more free memory available to delay the inevitable crash. (Not the best use case, but it’s happened to me, so I’m sure others have experienced this before.) Note: Still, that being said, 128GB is overkill for 99% of the gaming population.

Honestly I think they were crapping on it under the assumption that these guys put 128GB of ram in their rigs for no other reason other than to max out their specs, despite never having any need for even half of it. Based on the way a lot of the systems were built and listed I don't blame them for the assumption lol.

@@PsiliPharm2012 I actually don’t think most of the gaming population will need much more than 64GB even on the highest levels ever. As system architecture gets better and more integrated, and memory speeds from SSD’s and their successor technologies advances, not to mention cloud gaming, high system RAM may become more of a thing for specialists. I can foresee a future where memory and network latency are bigger impacts, along with the CPU’s ability to decode and run dedicated processes.
Jake and Anthony have incredible chemistry together
I love how many swears they hat to bleep out I like the unhinged side if ltt keep it up guys jake and Anthony are a perfect match make a part 2 love these videos

I laughed that way once in my life. When a vicious dog went for a cat and ended up falling down a flight of stairs, hit the floor to ceiling glass pane window on the landing and punched through it (multistory glass), and then fell a story to land in a koi pond. That’s basically all miners in a nutshell.
I always have fun looking at used computers and prices it can give a person hours of entertainment if you realize what real value is and the prices people ask. I don't think some of these people realize what depreciation is.

That sounds like my basement. This has worked out to my advantage because I was asked to fix an old system used to run an imagesetter, which is a high resolution laser printer that outputs to film for printing. Digging through my parts, I was able to find an old AT power supply and a replacement hard disk, which was a whopping 500 MB. The rest of the hardware, outside of the EISA motherboard and proprietary SCSI controller wasn't anything to write home about and included a '486 DX50, 1 MB RAM, and the old 3COM network card with the COAX connector on it. The scary part though was finding my MS-DOS and Windows 3.1 disks to install the software again because the system can't run on anything else. I eventually found them, and one disk was faulty, but I was able to recover it and continue the install.
