Two words -- That ... BRIDGE!!!
been across this bridge twice. One was back in 2009 coming back from Ville Plate, La bringing a school bus back to Mississippi. First time I learned about Baton Rouge traffic. Second time was heading to Houston, Tx... Interstate 10 is a very busy interstate. Also Interstate 12 is very busy too...
I been on that bridge in Baton Rouge and that from exits 153 to 155
Crossed this bridge daily for 2 years working at Dow.
Don't FOUR lanes of traffic have to condense to that one lane at Washington Ave.? I hit Baton Rouge headed east one Friday night. Not only was traffic at a standstill, we weren't even in sight of the bridge!

That’s been reconfigured a bit since I made this video. But for the most part, one lane had to exit right, one lane had to exit left, and the two center lanes had to merge to one lane to stay on I-10. Next time I’m up that way, I’ll make a point to get a new video of that because I can’t remember what they changed. But I think they might have eliminated the Washington Avenue exit completely.

@@504RoadTrips It actually used to be far worse. Both lanes had to merge to that one lane and that one lane was the Washington St. exit, so you had to merge again. I hear that they're actually about to fix that now with a major construction project and we are already being warned that during construction, I-10 will be just one lane.

Our Honda picks up a lot of road noise. Something to do with the tire I think. It gets a little annoying because that's all you can hear.

Lol no one calls it the Horace Wilkerson bridge. I call it the "new bridge " even though it's not new anymore 🤣🤣

I usually only hear it called the I-10 bridge, but I've heard old people call it the "New Bridge". But your ignorance of the name of the bridge, or how to spell it doesn't change the actual name of the bridge.
