How did you get so lucky that you went over that bridge in daytime, and it wasn't stop-and-go traffic both ways all the way across? You must be truly blessed. ;)

I remember crossing some super long bridge going through Louisiana, back in the 90's. Ugh, scared my life out!!! I hate bridges and overpasses that are super high, and super long.

nope nope nope! we traveled from texas to florida and i had NO idea there were so many bridges, which i HATE but when we came to this one it was terrifying like nothing i had ever seen in my life. it is huge and it is run down and it was shaking SO HARD!!! of course traffic was stopped so we were stuck on it for quite a while. what i found is that there is a car ferry about ten miles south called the plaquemines ferry. thats how we crossed over on the way back. screw this bridge. it is built just like the 35w bridge!! ALSO for you bridge haters going down I10, when you get to lake charles theres another horrific bridge, take the bypass road instead! you dont have to cross the old bridge!

Thank you for the info. Here's hoping the Plaquemines ferry allows small motor homes onboard. Time to ask "Mr. Google!"

You would have really hated the old Huey P Long Bridge in New Orleans before they widened it. 2 lane traffic each way and they were 9 feet wide. It also has a double railroad line on it and it shook badly when one was crossing it. Enjoy the video, lol kzread.info/dash/bejne/dWuFrrOknMWyf6g.htmlsi=-_U3w1ssJr4McsGL

Been over that bridge many times. It’s old and decrepit, only has those flimsy metal bars along the side. Feels like another driver could cause a wreck and take other cars off into the river.

No. The best is yet to come. I might put out some bridges and tunnel sections from old videos occasionally to add to the Bridges and Tunnels Playlist.
