Horace Wilkinson Bridge westbound

Opened in 1968, the Horace Wilkinson Bridge carries six lanes of I-10 traffic across the Mississippi River at Baton Rouge, LA. Unusually, the bridge is actually named for three separate people; three generations of Horace Wilkinsons who served in the Louisiana State Legislature over a combined period of 54 years.
It is the tallest bridge across the Mississippi, with its roadway reaching 175 ft at the center span. Altogether, the bridge is nearly 2 ½ miles long and its massive truss superstructure is 4,550 ft long with a center main truss span of 1,235 ft.
Locals still refer to this as the “New Bridge” to distinguish it from the “Old Bridge, aka the Huey P. Long Bridge upstream.
Also Includes: END I-110; JCT I-10, JCT LA 1

I really liked the alphabet soup at the south end of I-110.

I would not do well in the NOLA, BTR, or Lake Charles areas. I hate high bridges
