"Life prepared me for something better."
Sonita Kyen Muluh did not have an easy start to life, facing adversity growing up in Cameroon and later Belgium. Struggling to find a place to belong, powerlifting gave her that outlet, and helped her find a home within the sport's community.
Muluh developed the ability to move past what her body looked like, and to be able to focus on what she could accomplish.
By competing on bigger and bigger stages, she aims to show others the sport that has given her so much confidence, hoping that by competing at Sheffield 2024 she will be able to spread the sport to Africa, where she thinks the possibiltiies for powerlifting will be limtless.
