An evening session on the river Severn at Atcham on the Lymm Anglers Card fishing for barbel. All the rigs and baiting up hints and tips as well as some fish on the bank along with a nice river severn roach.

gAVE ME HOPE THAT FISH THAT THERE ARE SOME BETTER FISH TO BE HAD ON THE STICK FLOAT HERE AS AT TIMES BEEN PESTERED BY SMALLER SPECIES LIKE BLEAK....EWW CAPS LOCK WROTE ALL THIS AND JUST LOOKED UP LOL, JUST PRETEND ITS ALL LOWER CASE LMAO

deffo jason way i do allmy fishing i do feel we over complicate things a lot some pushed on us as a"better" was by companies and others we solve problems that dont need solving. simple is always best,less can go wrong lol,tight lines mate

lol, one of them is a huge bull and when he comes he just stares and doesnt moved even into the night and then you just see eyes in the torchlight lol, glad im on this bank!!

Nice one Danny. Years ago we used to fish that stretch just above where the Tern joins. There was a huge dead tree just above the mouth and mate it was a great peg! But as soon as they were hooked,bam, straight for the roots😱:-) 👍

I could watch/fish for barbel all day everyday, such an enjoyable species! Great video again Danny, hook bait wise I highly recommend the spicy sausage, but also severn valley barbel's 16mm ambush, severn berries and spicy Frankfurt pellets, had my pb of 9lb 6 oz whilst testing them, again great angling keep up the good work all the best for the Wye session mate

cheers matt glad you enjoyed the video mate, loving the barbel fishing and a few more videos on them to come as we go on a epic journey. my mate uses the ambush pellets and ihave to say the spicey sausage ones seem very similar to them. pitty severn valley dont sell to more shops

Great vids mate. Just looking at getting into barbel fishing myself, is that the 2500 Shadow reel you’re using? Everywhere I’ve read seems to tell me I need a 4000/5000/6000 size reel?

i liked it mate i normally go with what feels good ont he rod, the excalibre is quite a light rod being 150 quid price range, i moved to the zelos reels with it this year as i liked them for carp in 4000 size. to be honest its n jot like you are holding rod all time so i dont tihnk size reel makes much difference as appose to if was troitting a float

agree totally my mateuses them and i have to say the sonubaits ones smell very similar but the severn valley ones are very oily you are right pitty they dont distribute more
