'64 Fairlane. One of Ford's prettiest cars.
Jay, you hit the nail on the head . A car for people with more money than brains. Enjoy the monsoon season in New England this summer . The rain forest has come to the north east ⛈️🌨️🌧️🌩️⛈️💦🌩️🌨️🌧️☔⛈️🌧️
My cousin built a 64 Fairlane back in the 70's. It had a 392 dodge hemi with a push button torqueflite out of a 65 imperial. All built from wrecking yard parts right in his hometown. His exhaust system was 4 inch irrigation pipe from the family asparagus fields. Craziest car I ever saw for back in the day.
What a car. Wheels are incredible.
Jay has driven a real race winning polished aluminum AC 427 Cobra S/C. An Original 2 and a half Million $ version. He knows what brute side oiler power is. It was stored in his collection garage as a favor to the corporation that owns it. California fires can be a plus for folks like Jay, and people like me and you. I drove a replica of one in 2000 at Red Rocks near Las Vegas, Nevada. Just a detuned fiberglass 351 and still a real blast. The only creature comfort was something to hold on to, the steering wheel! My feet were too large to get comfortable in the tight available petal space. It was a childhood dream come true still. Living in New England full time would give me only a few months a year to safely drive the dream and I let it go for now. Time for this old guy's nap! The Amelas one
Stunning. Esthetic is sublime.
I've always had a soft spot for the '64 Fairlane. It was the car I learned to drive in. A 289 4 speed Sports Coup, black w/white buckets. Great lines

My first car was a 64 Fairlane 500 2 door hardtop. My dad owned a paint, body and mechanic shop and we restored it and I started driving it at 16, in '86 and dad passed in '92...I held on to it till my first divorce in my mid 30's....I miss that car and the memories it held when I drove it...I truly loved that car!
Super clean. Beautifuly done. Not typical for Leno and Osborne. Not enough power. More show than go. Need to tune it up. Cool. You made Jay like it.❤❤🤑👍

The Ring Brothers are creative and do excellent work. The problem is when you build a car like this that is designed to be a show car. You miss out on certain drivability and functional aspects that make a car great and fun to drive. My favorite Ring Brothers car is probably the old Cadillac shell over the modern ATS-V. I don't like all the modern technology. But it's nicely done. I bet they would be fun to design and build a car with

Yes we are spoiled. To put it in perspective this car is only 37 years removed from the Model T. When I was 12 my dads friend had a 64 Fairlane with the 289 hi-po. I couldnt have been more stunned if you put me in a jet plane. It started a fascination with cars that exists to this day.

Nice car
I love this show, I love Jay, I love Donald and I love the car but this is the exact type of car Jay bashes on other videos. We know Jay does not like this car. Also hats off to the video editor. I like that there's continuity almost thorough out the entire video. Nothing annoys me than when it shows the interior shot while driving and there's a car behind and the following shot there's no car anymore.
When I win the lottery one of my first calls will be to the bros in Wisconsin to see if they want to take on my blazer dream.
It's a nice car and even though you can't beat the modern-day multi-speed Transmissions, there's something still fun about the archaic three speeds where the engine has to work and slowly build to a climax. Maybe now it's a dated restomod but it's still awesome!!
My late neighbor worked for a machine tool company that did work for the Ring Brothers... he may have made some of the tooling used to build Afterburner.
These guys, the contempt, they’re treating this car like the red headed step child at the family reunion
The Ring brothers are Legendary and their cars are incredible. That being said, this car does nothing for me. I don’t believe it complements they’re talents.

Because the car is lame and Jay is struggling to not say anything negative. The reality is that this is another Ring Bros failure like so many of their "builds". Everything they do is overdone and pathetic.
As a Ford guy I really like the car. The Roush engine really does it justice. However, the big drawback is it is too busy, too many custom pieces that add nothing to the car. And when or if they fail it will cost to replace them. Beautiful work, yup. It is just a showpiece, look what I can do. We always had a saying in our car club, if it doesn't run chrome it. And if you are rich have someone else build it,lol.
It felt like you guys struggled to be enthusiastic and to be able to say nice things about this car.

Maybe because the essence of the original car is gone. It's a great looking car. It is faster and handles better than a Fairlane ever did originally. But the soul and character of the car isn't there anymore. It's a too modern interpretation in my opinion.

Ring Bros are famous for making Million Dollar cars that nobody wants and are worth about a tenth of what was invested. I appreciate the work they do but have no idea how they are able to find people dumb enough to put a project in their garage. Fools and money I guess.

Interesting show
It seems like a cool car that was over styled and engineered for wowing the show crowd. I'm sure with some tuning and driveability work it would be amazing. It has all the good stuff. I would go with a modern 6-speed manual just for fun. Starting over my build would have upgraded drivetrain brakes and keep most of the body stock with decent upgraded interior, great paint, clean and quick but not $500k unobtanium. BTW, 500 HP in a normal car is a ton. Their perception is a bit scewed driving 1000 HP cars nobody can afford.
Probably could use a little more gear, but I get it. It's just for cruising.
Nice Show Car. Cheers 🇨🇦
TOO BAD IT RIDES LIKE HELL! BEAUTIFUL CAR THOUGH WITH THAT EXCEPTION.
It's evident the suspension is highly taut. Ring Brothers don't fool around. Their machines are quite formidable.

@@sergeantmasson3669 I did make that simple observation whilst watching the video, you absolute beginner 😏
Actually muscle cars from the 60s and 70s were quite powerful with hp in the 3 and 400s range and Tq in the 400s + range were impressive. The problem was the 2 a 3 speed transmissions back then were terrible at using that power efficiently to lower E/Ts. There was so much power loss in the gap between each gear back then. Sure they were fun because you could feel the power in your chest. Add modern tires, and modern 6, 8 or 10 speed transmissions to those old 60s and 70s cars and you will knock a whole sec. off your original E/T.
Uncle Jay, Killin' it. Were they being staked by that tiny silver car?

Could have been a nice car except for the GHETTO PIMPMOBILE REEHUUMS and no tires. Looks like a gang cruiser. Even low riders use 13" wheels with actual tires.
My 17' Super Sport Camaro 6 speed manual with 455hp and 455 Tq. Will blow the doors off that thing. I step into mine at 30mph and I fish tail it until I let off. Jay steps into this and it looks like its straining to go. Put it back on the trailor Ring Bros. and tow it to the next show.

Notice how they didn't talk about the engine. Probably got it from a junkyard and painted it and put on fancey valve covers, then painted 427 on the hood.
Ring get's $1 million for these cars, not sure about that.
Does anyone else see the hood bouncing up and down?
That car is not running right, it needs a mechanic. Over 500 horsepower with no traction control in a carbon fiber car that weighs less than 3,000 lb would be a handful to drive, lighting up its rear tires anytime you floored it in first or second gear.
I’ve gotten into nutrition lately, and I like fine dining, but both you guys need to discover nutrition !
Th ring bros, can't get behind their builds.
Hard to get excited when the people driving it seem bored to death
It seams it's car left for show duty, and should even be trailered to cars and coffee. After all you wouldn't want to be spanked by a rusty old Chevy Spark. I don't like the black bumpers no matter what they are made of. The tailpipes are asinine, I'd do everything possible to make those unseen until they were reworked. I like the original Thunderbolt Fairlane more.
Please forward this video to Newsom and AOC. I want to see them have a hissy fit.

I've always liked the fairlane but it's not something I'd put "unlimited" money into...
Poor Jay, he really had to struggle to find something positive to say about this one. I had the same reaction, yawn. Don't even think a stick and third pedal could save it. That ridiculously over engineered sun visor? That remains horizontal when lowered? Brilliant. I know, I know, it's a show car. meh
no way that thing is that slow = they have it turned down.
Hard to be enthusiastic about something that is essentially pointless. Not a vintage car, but despite the $$$ performance never lives up to expectations. (Or modern equivalent like an AMG/M car/ Cadillac black wing etc.) it’s a weird world, that to my eye, has more in common with $500,000 watches than it does enthusiast cars. I’ll take the Bizzarini 5300 or the AMC 390 any day, This one is not as egregious as most restomods, (no 22”s thank God) but carbon fiber trim strictly for the look is still cringy to me. I love the Ring Bros, but chocolate syrup on top of chocolate ice cream with chocolate sprinkles on top, is well, too much chocolate for me.
Sounds like the trans was slipping!!! You punched it and it went nowhere.
This should have been an all EV mod because nothing about this car is right. I feel if Jay new he was going to have this encounter....he would not hv "denim'd up"!
@paulzeski6251

The sun visor design is the equivalent of taking a mouse trap...removing the mechanism...laying in wait to throw the remaining block at the mouse in hope that this somehow blocks the sun.
Jay reaching over to touch the steering wheel while under power was rude if not dangerous!
I'd rather own an actual 64' Fairlane, drop a 427, modern 6spd manual in it, upgrade the suspension, brakes, tighten the chassis, other upgrade odds and ends and it would be more of a show stopper than this Bling Brothers car.
