Jay is a class act. You can see the talk show host in him coming out with the questions he asks but they are usually really good questions! You also see his humor come out from being a stand up comedian where he is a legend just like in the car world. Good dude for sure.

That's so funny when they are talking about Ford and Chevy guys. I grew up a die hard GM fan, my dad is a GM fan, my uncle is a GM fan, and now it's 20 years later and someone was talking to me about how cool their Ford was the other day and I had an unreasonable reaction to it, haha. I kept thinking, "I'm an adult, where did that gut reaction come from." The rivalry runs deep, it really does. Now, all that being said, glad the Ford guys are out there!

I live in Tucson AZ and at a car show some time ago I viewed a little white 65 Mustang coupe tucked away in the corner of the show. Some old guy sitting next to it. It was not a show car by any strech but everything looked like it was there. Well everything was there except the engine and trans. Pop the hood and there tucked neatly in place was an LS engine from the Corvette complete with the Corvette Covers. The funny thing is the guy even kept the skinny oringinal size tires! Turnes out the Chevy motor fits in there almost better than the little 289. So the guy had a "stock" Corvette Engine and manual trans in a stock Mustang. but now the Mustang was a 400 hp tire ripper!

Still a lot of Windsor folks out here. And the aftermarket really reflects it. The amount of after market parts you can get to build Serious power from a sbf Windsor these days is crazy. Problem with the 8.2" deck height Windsor (260, 289, and 302) is at about 500hp you're pretty much guaranteed to split the block in half. So you see more and more going to the 9.5" deck height Windsor (351) and the aftermarket blocks. I've heard stock block 9.5" is good for 700hp or so. A nice Dart brand 8.2" can get stroked out to 363ci and easily take 1500+hp. Is the Windsor as popular as the LS? No way. Do I feel like the Windsor is actually starting to get more popular than the small block Chevy (305,350)? Yeah... I kinda think it is.

To be fair they were driving on a 2 lane with no shoulder at that point, plus if you've ever had cars that started making weird noises, unless it's from the engine, you need a little time to localize the noise and determine what driving condition is causing the noise. But yeah, the Ring Bro probably felt like a new mom who wants the friend to give her back her baby that's now crying suddenly lol

I would love to work with the Ringbrothers. They bring so much detail into their builds that from every angle there's something new to see and that's what I've been trying to do with cars I designed since I was 13. I want you to notice something from every angle. I've seen this video at least 5 times and other editorials and videos on this exact car and have just now realized the roof is covered in a matte clear versus the rest of the car. It's an element so simple in today's custom car world of black roofs it goes un noticed and blends in very well.

Then shortly after, when it made the sound again & it continued, I thought nope, that can't be a spring. Then I thought drive shaft, U joint, axle, something driveline. lol I should just quit trying to think, I get myself in trouble to often. :) Love that car. If I had the money, I would get something like this for a regular driver over an exotic any day. Great classic look with just enough custom & US made parts. I drive a Camaro and I'd be upset seeing a Ford engine in it... So i get people being uneasy with a Ford with a Chevy inside of it. But you know, the owner wants it like that... Meh. Better that than a Nissan inline 6 in a Mustang... At least you get a proper V8 soundtrack.

I love that they talked about the reasons they put a Chevy engine in it, because those are some of the same reasons I love pushrod motors. A lot of people don't understand how insanely bulky, heavy, and unwieldy an overhead cam motor can be, especially if it's a v8. People to talk crap about single cam, pushrod motors, but I think they don't realize how small and light they are. You can actually have a much physically smaller single cam with a larger displacement. For example, the Ford 5.0 is actually a larger and heavier engine than the Chevy 6.2, despite having significantly smaller displacement. It's because of all the extra cams and parts to run the cams (timing chains, gears, etc.). Of course, the added control of the valves from the dohc adds a lot of horsepower, so you have this interesting tradeoff of dohc adding power vs more cubes adding power. In the end, it's usually pretty even in terms of power.

+GT7786 What "mustang"??? The only thing left of the original car is the glass I believe. It just goes to show that nowadays, it's hard to beat an LS package. Ya hear the same reasons from every engine builder, it fits in smaller spaces with less fuss, cost effective, you can get more power per cost, runs like a bat out of hell, and can take a real beating. What's NOT to like?

+GT7786 I see you're point but the man who they built this for had his reasons and that's enough reason for me to say that he prefers an ls engine over a coyote or a larger ford v8.
