Tony Khan has thin skin, and thats problem number one. You can't be a boss in this business with thin skin. Hunter is correct - the only competition is in the rear view. WWE is officially basically too big to fail. Doesn't mean it can't go back to being a fun product to watch.

    @@adamweishaupt2846 and WWE is getting the lowest ratings in history. For this past Monday, Raw had 1.7 million viewers, not a 1.7 rating. AEW has only been around five years and are doing very well . WWE is the worst it’s ever been. Just because you make money by selling your product to media platforms, doesn’t mean you’re succeeding.

    He could probably do it. There are football players (real football, not handegg that Americans play) who have had heart issues and have pacemakers but still play and football is one of the most cardio-intensive sports in the world. Triple H could probably wrestle a hundred more matches and be absolutely fine but if it's not worth the risk to him and he doesn't really want to be in-ring anymore anyway, that's fair enough.

    Not tryna be cocky about it but he's right. The presentation of AEW is horrible. One thing about Aew that I think is absolutely horrible that many may not talk about is their commentators. I know their commentators are professionals with lots of experience but the downside is those voices are synonymous with other promotions.

    @@mt-cd4oy He's there to basically tell the audience (and the other announcers to be frank) who half of the wrestlers are and what their moves are because most of the AEW roster came from the indie scene and only the hardcores knew them so there needed to be someone on comms to be able to talk about them (because JR and Tony didn't have a clue lol). The trouble is, it makes Excalibur come off as a know-it-all smark because he's trying to explain who the wrestlers are when the audience doesn't even know who he is.

    I was 12 years old when WrestleMania debuted, and remember being disappointed because a majority of the fans wanted Piper/Hogan 2, not A Mr T tag match, so it's this year, 40 years later, I'm old, but thrilled that Trips made this spectacular event even better!

    They do different things. If you wanna see PG nonsense where anyone who isn't the Rock isn't allowed to have blood or swearing and a couple of part-timer main eventers hawk all the TV time in endless half hour promo segments where the wrestling show has less than half an hour of actual wrestling on it, you watch WWE. If you actually wanna see wrestling on your wrestling show instead of non-stop talking, with some grit to it where adults talk like adults, you watch AEW.

    @@morlun838 AEW can run their shows however they choose but if you are not telling stories people want to watch, if your entire sell is in ring action, you will never break into a more mainstream audience. It is fine if that is what AEW wants, but if they want a more main stream audience there has to be more substance than just the in ring action.

    Yep. I don't blame him though. Why wouldn't you take the money marks money and do the easiest schedule in pro wrestling, save your body, get better, and when that ride is over WWE will still be there. But it does say a lot that someone like Cody who knows what that grind is like voluntarily goes back to it and shows that kind of mentality will get you to the top while Osprey takes the easy road lol

    I know AEW said that they didn't see themselves as competition to WWE. But isn't it this type of week that forces AEW to compete with WWE by the nature of buisness alone. And although AEW could be compared to a modern day ECW, unless their prepared to go down the same lines as WWE in the future, they'll crash and burn like ECW did

    The thing he said about the lesser schedule is ridiculous. The people that choose that want to be able to enjoy life and not have to be away from their home for like 300+ days a year. It says nothing about any lack of work ethic. If certain people in wwe have no problem with that then cool im happy for them but dont throw shade at people that were like ya know what id like to be able to sleep in my own bed a little more than 27 times a year.

But you can also go the smart way and being great elsewhere with a lighter schedule, and then sign for the bigger stage as an established megastar still with a lighter schedule. But even then, you must have a really, REALLY unique talent to succeed that way. So in the end, wrestlingwise, he's right...

    Of course The rock adds a lot of eyes in the WWE But I believe when he passes the torch WWE will still be hot depending on how they treat their new stars... Cause as of now theyve got huge stars like: Cody, Roman, Cm Punk, Seth, Drew, Orton and in the growing: Gunther, Sami zayn, Owens, La Knight, Styles, like theres a lot of stars if treated right.
