You didn't read the years which the verses took place. The first verse was from 1995, just before Hailie was born, the second verse was from 1996 when Hailie was one and the same year which he released Infinite, the third verse took place in 2007 which was the year in which he overdosed and in the end of the verse he took pills, overdosed and collapsed. Then arose starts at the hospital.

Look at the song timer in Arose when he says “consider them last 4 minutes” as he’s saying 4 minutes, the timer is at 4:00. That was a hidden gem in the song that he wasn’t sure if anyone was gonna catch, but a young teenage girl actually caught it

you never heard framed, offended, remind me, heat, or Chloraseptic then?
December 24, 2007 he overdosed... at the end of castle, you heard him collapse after taking all those drugs. When he talked about putting out his last album, he meant encore or curtain call (if you consider it as an album) he wasn't talking about revival. Then first line in on arose is the hardest 😅 when he said "if i can rewind time like a tape, inside a boombox for every pill or per cassette that i ate"😂
This song is a true story too he overdosed in 2007 and when he said this was his last album he was talking about his scrapped album king Mathers. He didn't release that album because he overdosed and was in and out of rehab
Eminem said these are the best songs he has ever made. The poor reaction from the public is what pussed him off and where he went and made Kamikaze. Fun tip. When he said at the end Last foru minutes of the song, it was exactly 4 minutes of the song
Guys Em LITERALLY almost died of an overdose. Sure he’s using some wordplay to describe it but most of these bars are what actually happened. You don’t have to go to deep on these 2 songs. It’s more emotional than bar heavy.
Believe is a masterpiece as well...
Imo one of the best ones from his latest discography 🔥🔥🔥
you have to do "believe" from revival! it's a masterpiece.
At the end of castle hey dropped the pills on the floor and the thump was him hitting the floor. Everything in arose was what he went through....what he actually went through. This is why his Stans go so hard for him and it has little to do with actual ryhming, he puts his self in his music literally and figuratively enrgywise.
@michaelbraum77
11 ай бұрын
I have to argue with you about not having anything to do with "actual rhyming" Anyone that can rhyme 10 things in a row with ORANGE without any being the word ORANGE is a rhyming genius! Em definitely put all 100 percent of himself into these 2 songs! That's what makes them hit so hard!
I was 17 and a junior in high school when The Slim Shady LP came out. I have been a fan since then. I enjoyed Revival because he was saying stuff that grown people of a mature age can relate to. I really liked these two songs as well as Bad Husband and Walk On Water.

I don't know why people hated on this album. Walk on water from Revival is one of my favorite Eminem songs.
Infinite is a more lyrical album with little to no shock value in it. One where he is definitely trying to show off his wordplay abilities. According to Eminem he was encouraged by the label he was on at the time to make more radio friendly songs, so a majority of them are from the perspective of "yeah, my life is shit now but it will get better if I continue to work hard." I've always liked the album myself, but it is a much different sounding Eminem when it comes to content, which shocks a lot of people who are only familiar with the Slim Shady side of him. Infinite is also unique in that it contains one of the only actual sweet/love songs that Eminem has put out (a song called Searchin').
I've never heard any other song from any genre that hits me as hard as these do. And the creativity of rewinding the tape to get back to Castle is amazing

Just was thinking, it's been a while since you guys uploaded an em reaction and just did the search and Voila. Here we are. This is one of those tracks in which em has put his heart in. One of the most emotional tracks of EM in recent years. Edit:- Was talking about 'Arose'
He was right about the double in the title, as throughout "Arose", in the background you hear the Bette Midler song "The Rose". "Just remember in the winter Far beneath the bitter snows Lies the seed that with the sun's love In the spring becomes the rose"
Arose is a stab to the gut every listen. 💔

You guys didnt pay attention to the dates on the letters he wrote to Hailie! lol. Your welcome! lol. When "Infinite" came out Eminem hadn't found his own sound yet. “I i could rewind time like a tape, inside a boombox, one day for every pill or percocet (per cassette) that I ate” Great double

In Arose he goes through various Other great rappers hats. One of the many great things of this song. He puts on all the Caps.
He was right about the double on rose. The background vocal of Arose is Bette Middler "The Rose". Should have taken the lap :)
Greg wasn't so far off with his guess about "Every rose has its thorn". It was "The rose" from Bette Middler in the background, which is a brave choice for a rap-song. It's utterly slow and so far, there are only very few reactors who recognized it. Probably because they're all too young to have heard it before ;-) The last verse on that song is "underneath that bitter snow. Lies the seed that with the sun's love in the spring becomes the rose" - so yes, it's a double! (and call me jackass all you want - I'm right! ;-) ) Also, Em truly nearly died. So yepp, he was on a ventilator. His near-death overdose happened the night before Hailie's birthday - I think 26th December.

With infinite Em was finding his way and his voice/sound was in its infancy, You can here the influences of other artists and their styles but with Ems pen and ability to put words together, He wasn't known so after a few years of slim shady LP and The Marshal Mathers LP and curtain call people were starving for more and really started checking Infinite and it was a diamond in the rough. Think of a rocky horror picture show, flopped when it came out but it's a huge cult following now. Infinite is kinda the same as far as how people find it and then fall in love with it. 👊🏼 Well done fella's
This song is about his recollection of his overdose in 2007.
Fun fact, the little bro that em mentioned at 24:50 , he really merried the mentioned girl just after this song released.
Fun fact, at the end of a Rose when he says those last 4 minutes would have been the song I was singing to my daughters, look at the time stamp of the song when he says it. The fucking attention to detail with this man is impeccable.
Yep al basically true, overdosed on Hallies Birthday due to a lot of things mainly losing Proof rip
I can't listen to these songs without crying but I still occasionally need to, and always together. One thing I haven't seen anyone here point out is, that sound of Em falling at the end of Castle is the same as the drum loop for Arose.
going through changes is a good one!
At the end of verse three he’s talking about his time before going to rehab and the hiatus he took in between albums
THE YEARS ARE IMPORTANT AT THE END OF THE CHORUS'S
I'm almost positive the song title is a double, because at first the song is about him dying, so he's getting a rose, but he made it to the hospital in time and arose. It's possibly even a slight jesus reference, as the album also has "walk on water".
You guys were talking thru the chorus when the date of Dec 24th 2007 was said. Before he od'd. Encore is the " last albulm"
Tears every friggin time......damn; great reaction....tough to get through these #goat

Remember the time stamps Dec 24th 2007 and it's about to be 2008 Em battled addiction lost proof and got his 2nd divorce 05-09 were by far his toughest years he's rapping about some of those dark thoughts and times back when he was struggling as if he wasn't going to make it hence why he said hold your mom cherish each other to his daughters and about proof getting married and having a family hope this helps keep up the great work you 3 it is always appreciated much love from Brett and Andrew Sylvester we're identical twins btw hahaha
Revival is so underrated
another sad one - react to eminem going through changes
This is him recounting his overdose after Proof died. Eminem was truly almost dead. Had to learn to rap again. Had to learn to live again. It’s why he is sober
The Noise at the end of Castle wasn't a gun shot. It was the sound of him collapsing due to a drug overdose. Remember him saying I gotta go now I'm getting sleepy. Also the chorus was giving Dates in this timeline with the last one being in December 24th, 2007. Dec 2007 is when Em almost died from a drug overdose.
