I'm sold on Parchment Farm! Backwoodsy stoned out Hardrock recorded in a minimalist way- is what I gravitate towards! (reminds me of Ironclaw-just picked up that double LP reissue!) I'll go against the grain here and say I love the Fraction LP! no shame, Akarma reissue over here. 'Come out of her'-is worth the price of admission for me. Its transcendental w/ a guitar in your hand.

Congratulations on the parchment farm. It's a great example of the best the early 70s had to offer. I love the drum mix.

Grant Smith and the Power are on that Canadian Boo label too.

Not a fan of Fraction Moon Blood. Bought it played it, sold it. Some albums that I didn't care for on first listening grew on me. The second self titled Traffic album comes to mind. I gave Moon Blood three listens before taking a Tylenol and calling it a day. Just a personal opinion. Playing Gandalf and feeling much better now.

Haha yeah, glad to hear I'm not entirely alone regarding Fraction. Thanks for sharing.

Good reviews -as always. I share your reservations about Fraction. Overhyped and lacking memorable melody. Kinda like amateurish Doors. I found an original in an Edmonton Flea Market late 80's for a dollar. Sold it to Walter Geersten in Belgium about 10 years later for $400. A good price at the time. I now have the 20 year old Angelus boot. A Passing Fancy lead singer Jay Telfer released a highly collectible solo 45rpm garage single on the mega-collectible Canadian Sir John A. label (SJA6) in 1968 "Life, Love, And The Pursuit Of Happiness (A Hippy Philosophy)". I had one - lost it. Discogs median $400, highest $680. He later released a solo pop LP in 1973. Avoid.

Hey Derek. Never heard of Parchment Farm. The guy in the middle, on the front cover, looks a little dodgy to me! Personally, I'd prefer originals, if affordable, but no probs with re-issues. In fact, the most I ever spent on a record, ($160), was for a re-issue of U.K. Kaleidoscope's "Tangerine Dream" L.P. back in 2017.

Hey Derek, when it comes to moon blood gotta agree w/ u. I like it enough to add it to my collection, however, it’s probably not going to end up being a top ten type. I suppose that’s what makes us individuals 😀. Take care

That's about where I'm at with Fraction. Good enough to pick up on, but there's much better.

Hey Derek, I don't mind your opinion on Moon Blood. It's different than mine, but I recognize within the psych genre, you're more into pop psych than I am, and I like the heavy psych. Keep making the vids and be true to yourself. Cheers!

I can vibe with some heavy psych too, but Fraction just fell short for me initially. Ever since hearing this latest transfer, I'm warming up to it better than the other times.

A Cool thing about A Passing Fancy, it's true stereo. If you had all those OG singles, they would be mono. Yeah, the later non- single tracks really stand out from the earlier material, more psych in style. I paid up on a nice OG ten years ago. The OG label is a shiny silverish color with black print. > Thanks for all the low down on Parchment Farm. I will look into getting a copy. 👍

Hey man. Riding Easy produces some top notch reissues. I have nothing against reissues, I own many. For me, I would much rather own a reissue than not own it at all, especially if originals are mega rare and crazy expensive. Granted, I always prefer OG over repros, but in some cases it's not possible. I have to pick up that Parchment Farm after hearing it. Fraction is legendary. I own an earlier reissues. This is a great example of having to own the reissue, since they only pressed a couple hundred and they go for 4 figures. I feel the same way about that Farm lp that everyone was drooling over not so long ago. I don't think it's possible for Moon Blood to live up to the hype. I prefer Randy Holden Population II over both those albums. Have a good week. Peace ✌ ☮ 🕊

Hi Derek! Very nice to hear your views man! I really didn't mean to cause any headlines, but it's nice to hear how people collect and think about these things. I'm also 100% about the music first (that's why half of my manifesto was about collecting the stuff you love). I agree with you about Moon Blood, I haven't really gotten into it musically, but as you said it's a fascinating LP. Take care, great video!

my collection is around 90% OG pressings unfortunately I can't always afford to go that way plus I think my better half would have something to say if I was to spend that kind of cash on a record too many times

Hey Derek! I’m with you on og’s and repressed records both are cool as long as I can afford it and I like the music. Snagged a Frumpy record from Dom. I’m on the fence with Parchment Farm but your pushing me to get it 😂 I was going to pass on Fraction but streamed it on the day of the pre-order and decided to pull the trigger not my favorite heavy psych but unique and good Take care Brian ☮️

I found myself nodding in agreement with your takes on Moon Blood and Parchment Farm. Moon Blood is definitely overhyped, overly dramatic, and the singer often just tries too hard to be his best (Christian?) version of Jim Morrison lol. Parchment Farm is a real banger.

I'm happy to spend less money on re-issues - many have bonus/unreleased tracks as well as more info than the original releases! In fact, I have a wonderful-sounding CD of that Passing Fancy LP and the excellent Epic Records LP reissue of the KAK LP! Be blessed just to have the music whether it be the original, re-ish, boot, CD, or CDr! ...I do have the Fraction LP on CD somewhere in my collection (Italy, 1992 boot) but haven't played it in over a decade or so - I do remember it being "meh".

Had to split some funds to get it. This pre-order business can hurt sometimes. I think the rarity drives its interest more than the sounds.

Deadwax66 told me I should bid on A Passing Fancy but I didn’t want to bid against you. I ended up getting a 60’s band from Chili.
