Dang Derek! Ruth White was a cool find. Use to have a copy, but returned it, as it was in pretty bad condition. I'd definitely love to grab another copy. You might wanna hunt down Louise Huebner's "Seduction Through Witchcraft" album. It has the same kinda vibe to it, with the music supplied by Louis and Bebe Barron, who did the soundtrack to the film "Forbidden Planet". Electronic weirdness mixed with incantations! That John's Children comp is all you really need by them, but I do have the "Desdemona" 45 in a piccy sleeve. The lyric thing, if I remember rightly, was something along the lines of... "lift up your skirt and fly" and/or "lift up your skirt and speak" which was which?, I don't know off hand. Yep, miss out Spirit's "12 Dreams" (yawn), and jump to their 70's/80's stuff. Caught the band, and Randy solo, in the early 80's when they toured the U.K.

@@SteveMcQueenForever Have you had a listen to her album? It's pretty cool, if you like that sort of stuff. Babetta's "Art Of Witchcraft", and Barbara The Gray Witch's "self-titled" double album are also worth a spin, with Babetta's just being spells? with no music, whilst Barbara's is great, with more electronic weirdness. I've posted a couple of Barbara's songs, with film clip accompaniment. Check 'em out if you like.🧙‍♀

Great finds for sure Derek. Old hi fi equipment that starts to give you the problem you've described. Well no guarantee, but sometimes you open it up and spray the proper electronic cleaner on all inside the rotary knobs, even the power switch, toggle switches, etc. Remember to first disconnect power cord from outlet. Then after testing if problem still exists, it could be COLD SOLDER JOINTS. Two most common solutions, other than CAPACITORS to be replaced. Hope this helps. Thanks for sharing.

Hi, Derek! I'm glad to hear and see that your electricity is back on! ...I've heard about those Ruth White LPs for decades but have never been lucky enough to find one anywhere but have quite a few great 45s on that extremely interesting label! Her LPs need to be re-issued! ...Used to have those Gun LPs but do have the CD re-issues though. Love 3-Man Army too! ... Have you ever seen the HUGE LP on Alshire Records, "Astro-Sounds From Beyond The Year 2000", released in 1968? Super psych/space-rock! Currently goes for up to $135.00 on discogs, 6 listed, 926 wanting it! I've never seen a copy...

Great 45's Derek. The Gestures are fairly well known for their song "Run, Run, Run", which has been comped a few times. I've got it on the Pebbles 9 comp. The Apollo's Apaches 45 is great. There's so much going on, with all the tempo changes on both sides of the 45. I've got the Dream Syndicate's "The Days Of Wine And Roses" LP, which if can imagine the Velvets meeting Television you'll get the drift. The best thing to come out of the band though, was Kendra Smith! I'd have probably been suckered into grabbing the The Amplified Version album, but I listened to a few tracks and... uh... it's not the bag I'm in!

After Christine Perfect quit to join Fleetwood Mac, Chicken Shack went from IMO boring run of the mill boogie blues to become more of a bluesrock band and after some trial and error (100 Ton Chicken) made some really good records. Imagination Lady is probably their best, but i'll give Accept Chicken Shack and Unlucky Boy a shout as well.

2"different"stages of Chicken Shack, there was the more blues orientated stuff that i know you're not a big enthusiast of blues, and the slightly later early 70s albums that fortunately moves away from the strict blues sound introducing hard rock with guitar pedals etc, and indeed "other"sounds permeating into their blues sound!!
