🎈Happy 10th! ...I started out way back in the day when I was 12yo. First began buying 45s @10 cents each/or 15 for a buck. Didn't know the artists but loved the different labels! Much of those go for hundreds now! Started buying LPs in the late 60's/early to mid -70's - also from the budget bins. Biggest LP score was the Nichols department stores haul @3/1.00 - my Volkswagen bug was crammed with LPs in every nook and cranny - even in the passenger seat. I went to 8 different central Pennsy Nichols stores that day! It was then that I started buying for resale - at one time I had 30 sealed Bubble Puppy LPs, multiple Demian LPs, and dozens of Terry Knight & The Pack LPs too! Also had a few copies of the now-mega-rare Leon's Creation LP - great funk/psych! Nichols got their LPs from the now-defunct Transcom Distributors in Buffalo, NY. 🎈

Kiss was the first real music i got on record when i was 10.Destroyer and Love Gun
Fresh faced and so young. Congratulations
Hi from Wales. I found a copy of Pretties For you second hand in 1972. Very lucky as it was an import in Great Britain. Great video.
Congratulations on your 10 year anniversary 🎉🥳 Enjoy your channel 🎉 Cheers 🍻
Your story is so relatable, that its scary. I was brought up on kshe classic rock radio and my dad's cd, record & cassette collection. Coopers Killer, Blue Cheers New! Improved! and Outsideinside, Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon, The Crazy World of Arthur Brown, Sabbaths Paranoid and We Sold Our Soul for Rock 'N' Roll, The Grateful Deads first three records and Spirits The Family That Played Together is where I started. ALL are still cherished to this day and I'm beyond grateful for being born into such great albums. Thanks for sharing, Derek. Great video.
Hi Derek! Thank you for another great video. I've been watching for some years now. Love your channel and the way you communicate about music. I'm 47 and learn a lot from you and your videos about psychedelic bands or albums I didn't know about. Greetings from Denmark 😎✌

Glad to assist! Thanks. Sometimes I feel I fall short on some of the details, but I'm more of a listener than a historian I guess.
Hey - I've been watching your channel for just over a month and am really enjoying it - you talk about and have introduced me to so many great records already and it was fun hearing your back story today. Keep posting and sharing - much appreciated!

Yeah, this store had some random CDs that would show up from time to time. Remember Alco?? Haha.
Congrats on 10 years, I’ve been watching for maybe 5? I’ve sort of lost track of how long I’ve been checking out VC videos, but I do know that I saw an early one with you praising PRETTIES FOR YOU and that hooked me immediately, I feel like I spent most of the 90’s trying to find others who revered it and EASY ACTION as much as I did (and still do). I love your movie reviews too, would enjoy more of those, though I understand if they don’t get the same traction. Anyway, keep up the great work!

Since Mazzy no longer returns my calls maybe Derek and Dick could do some movie reviews.

I might take a step back from the Acid Archives & do a movie review here and there. Thanks Ian.
Congratulations on ten years. That's quite some feat to be posting regularly. I always enjoy your choice of records and your critique is always spot on. I'm in my late-50's and got into psych back in the mid-80's when there was a kind of psychedelic revival. I was living in London at the time and there was some good nightclubs back then playing that kind of music (Alice in Wonderland). I've been into it ever since and your recommendations always help me do discover new sounds, so it's much appreciated. Keep up the good work!

Congrats! I just found your channel a few months ago. Thank you for all the great content.
Your comfort level and presentation has definitely come along way. Your channel reminds me of Sublime with Jonas, he was rather young when he started his channel. Great channel/ selections Derek. Congrats 😄

Yes! Forgot to mention Jonas & a few others when I began watching. Love his style of content. Thank you.
🥂Congrats Derek! Interesting on hearing about childhood/parent's records. I grew up on my parents country & western/easy listening record collection, in the early sixties. The first record I ever broke, was Johnny Cash's "Ring Of Fire" album when I was 8. "Killer" was my first Alice Cooper album, which I bought when it was released. Keep up the good work!

You're basically everybody's grandfather when it comes to the psych world on KZread....🤣 Thanks Gramps!
Derek, that is quite a long KZread journey. I didn't join until 2011. Thanks, Chris
You were one of the first channels that helped me go down the rabbit hole into psychedelic music. Now my collection is insanely good 5 years later. I hope you still enjoy the ugly ducklings from time to time. Cheers Sean

This was pretty sweat and enjoyed hearing about your early days. You and your channel was what sent me into the fray of making VC vids. For better or worse, Dereck Higgins too. First video was a response to you though. But fun for sure, hope to see plenty more
