Ridgid 10 miter sliding miter saw honest review

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

This is my honest review of this saw. Home Depot and ridgid tools did not pay me but did send me the saw to try. They did not influence my opinion on the saw but I really appreciate their support of me and my channel.

People make too big of a deal out of the deflection. I tried every saw at Lowe's and Home Depot and they all moved some. I picked up the Ridgid on sale and it's not the best but definitely not the worst.

You could bungee cord the shop vac hose to the ceiling to reduce the pull on the hose.

Hey dude, great review and thanks for the infor! Out of curisosity, have you tried running your hose from above the saw? It might would help with it coming loose?

That has definitely crossed my mind. I may buy a new hose that isn’t so rigid. Hope that helps too.

Great review thanks, in my opinion it have too much deflection with little force I have the Hercules and it does have deflection but you have to really put heavy force to make that thing move Still i love this miter saw, thanks again

I am into these saws big time. Cant afford ons yet but its high on my list when the time comes. What made you go with a 10inch instead of a 12? Sounds like spec for spec theyre very similar so id consider the 10 if going to save space and cut 99% of what id be doing either way

I generally make smaller items. Most boards I cut are only 6 inches wide at the most. I didn’t think the 12 inch was necessary and still feel that way for me

I couldn't believe of all stands that one was available second hand and local. That won't happen again. Leaning towards the Ridgid stand with the wider stance and bigger wheels. On sale for $179 right now. Just wish I had a table like that Bora so I could save space when not in use

I don't know if I'd call this a honest review he said this saw is good for Crown molding and they do not even make Crown clamps for this saw I've had riged miter saw for years. You just gotta hold The Crown up there at the angle and do your best but it very rarely works out not a good saw for crown

Your obviously a amateur woodworker, no one uses a sliding miter saw for datos. It would be interesting to see how it compares to say a DeWalt for accuracy using a quality blade cutting a wide oak board.

Since this is a review video, I wanted to show the capability of the trenching feature. I know the Kapex can make accurate dados. And so what if I’m an amateur woodworker. I’ve been doing this for 15+ years and I’m still learning. I hope every woodworker out there is still improving and learning when they can.

@@CunninghamWoodWork If you want to do a useful review, I would be much more interested in you installing a PREMUIUM BLADE and doing some cross cuts at near full capacity on hardwood such as oak or maple at both 90 degrees and 45 degrees to check accuracy and rigidity, on wide hardwood boards it is best to make the cut fairly slow to let the blade work without chattering. Also, accurate bevel cuts is also very important. Most sliding miter saws can do the datos but no one uses this feature except maybe for a rough dato when you don't have a table saw or router. Are there any adjustments to remove any play that could affect accuracy.

@@erwinmcqueen2618 like all mitre saws, accuracy is dependant on the user. All mitre saws have deflection. All blades move when hitting material. A saws accuracy depends on how well the user compensates its short comings, which all saws have.
