Hi Vince. I just want to give ya big thank you for your review of this saw. I purchased this saw a little over a year ago based on this review. I've since used this saw pretty heavily all this past summer doing 3 composite decks and a complete vinyl siding job on our new house. I changed the blade to a 60T Diabolo for this work. It cut the vinyl like butter. FWIW, one has to pull the blade thru the vinyl rather than the traditional push thru in order to get clean, non-chipped cuts. I got precise cuts on all the composite decking as well...all flawless. It's a great saw, especially at this price point. Here recently, I pulled that blade back off and gave it a good cleaning prior to starting the next phase of our house project. I've recently been doing window trim work primarily following the method used at Finish Carpentry TV (Richard)....all using this saw. So far, so good!!! Love this thing!! Again, thanks!!!

When I first got into woodworking, I bought a Skil table saw, band saw and bench sander. I still use these same ones 25 years later.

25 years ago that was a decent brand too haha.
Not only is this a wonderful review, but you also showed how to adjust it and tune it up right out of the box. That's something no one else does! Thank you!
Being new to the construction world you’re videos really help me in many things thank you very much
Picked this saw up two weeks ago on Amazon for 250. Loving it so far!
Had it for couple of months now and IT IS A GREAT SAW. Just a regular homeowner here
I just purchased the same saw, so far so good I am just a homeowner with small projects.
Upgraded from an old craftsman hand-me-down 10", to a Delta Cruzer 12". Love it.

Those Deltas are beautiful
I bought this saw and I love it. It can't be stopped. Although, the light switch shorted out after about a month, had to rewire it.
Just purchased this exact saw, it’s still in the box, thanks for demoing , would like to see more videos pertaining to this saw.
I couldn't see at 1st, but thankfully you got some different views and plainly displayed an angle that made it obvious, even on my tiny cellphone screen. I'm so thankful for your tool reviews. I'm a body man by traide and your 1st hand knowledge and experience. You've seen and experienced things over your career that I'll never see. Your word carries much weight. Thanks so much for your time.
I got this saw last year and used it to rebuild my deck, including cutting all the composite boards to length. It's been a champ and I couldn't be more pleased with it. I liked it so much I just bought the Skil 10 inch portable tablesaw.

Been looking for an upgrade from my Harbor Freight miter saw. I can’t spend much and this is certainly within my budget. Thank you for the review and your thoughts. I do woodworking on the side and this is a much needed upgrade. Harbor Freight has served me well for 5 yrs now. Time to upgrade!
Just ordered mine to finish up my hardwood stair project, will be here tomorrow. Great video, thanks again for the information and entertaining review.
Thanks for reviewing the Skil 10”. I’m a fan of Skil products. I inherited a table saw, it’s probably 30 yrs. old works great. I’m a DYI person. I appreciate you really doing such a thorough review. The light / shadow bothers me. I have a Skil circular saw, the laser is non existent in the sun. Sailboat rehab - that’s the sun issue. There was a mention in another comment about changing the blade…going to find one at the store for more investigation. Really appreciate all you great videos.
Thanks very much for this review. I had a cheapie Chicago Electric sliding miter saw for many years, but now I'm working on a home theater project with a ton of crown and other moldings, so I needed to step up. I didn't spend a million dollars on this saw, but it's a huge improvement. Accuracy is very impressive, just as you found. I did change the blade to a 60-tooth, low angle ATB (couldn't find a negative rake in any local stores) but you're right, the stock blade was impressive out of the box for a 40T. Thanks for confirming my good impression. Great saw for the money.
@VCG Construction. Thanks Vince for the video intro of that Skil dual compound sliding miter saw. It's a great deal for the price and features. Yes, please make a video on how you make molding cuts on a miter saw. I'm always up for a good lesson. Hope you, your crew, and your families stay safe and well.
Definitely the most enjoyable detailed no bullshit content i have viewed so far ,keep it up buddy, all the way from Scotland 👍😎
Got this saw a couple weeks ago as a backup for my DeWalt, something lighter for when I don't need the 12 inch..and I love it! Great little saw.

Do you put it through fairly good work??
Nice looking saw! Thanks for the review and showing the adjustments. I bought a delta 12” compound miter (non-slide) used on CL a few years back. Also came with a second 60 teetheses blade for $120. Guy barely used it. Been good for my needs!
I just got it for 230$ including tax. I’m quickly falling in love with Skil. Their 14amp router combo is the best value out there, hands down. It’s gone as low as 100. I’m using this saw primarily to break down lumber and will soon need it for a lot of quick cuts when I move into a new place/shop. As far as I can tell with the few test cuts, it’s dead on straight from the factory. Good job skil
I got the Skil table saw on your recommendation and been very happy. Already have a newer miter saw so not in the market. Quite impressed with Chevron's changes to Skil.
Impressed you showed how to adjust the saw. I think even though the price is right, everyone should know basic maintenance of their tools.
I love these cuts of you talking while assembling things. Pure gold 🤣
Vince is not just a charismatic tool tester and bargain hunter he is also a skilled tradesman 👍🏽
I’m a believer. Own the miter saw, table saw and a few 12v cordless tools. The saws have been absolutely amazing. I been actually shocked with the cordless tools! If you a weekend warrior and want good tools at a good price, in my opinion SKIL is hard to beat.
It is currently out of stock on Amazon so a lot people are wanting this saw. I would definitely go with this Skil (Chervon)! Vince, thanks for the nice detailed review!
Seems pretty good I have a worm drive skill table saw and I really like it . I like how you adjusted the stops not all saws are ready out of the box you need to check them , have a great day
I got an old Hitachi. 10” sliding miter saw and love it looking to get a new saw most I have used are ok but just can’t find one worth getting I was super impressed with this video
Thx for the review not too expensive 😊 Happy Sunday!
I've had my 10" Skil miter saw for a while now and I gotta say it is a real nice machine. I has all the major features and it does everything it's supposed to do. Stock blade is ok for a while but you'll need to replace it with a better one, but that's common.
I was given a brushless 36 volt Ryobi 10" dual bevel sliding miter saw for a birthday present 6 years ago. I use it at least once a week cutting trim and gutters and whatever else I'm replacing. It's nice and light weight and I've never had an issue with power even cutting red oak or pressure treated 2x8s i run it with 2 4 amp HP batteries (even though it's not an HP saw). It's easy to carry to job sites and makes nice cuts. The only complaint i have is that it has a laser guide as opposed to a shadow line.
Hey Vince thanks for the video. Amazon has the saw at a 10 percent discount. Bought it yesterday.
Bought this same saw today for $249 with 11% off at Menards. $222 for a decent dual bevel sliding saw is a fantastic deal. Looks like it'll be great for residential use.
I just had mine delivered today. setting it up tomorrow, and changing to a 60 tooth blade.
Just received and set up this exact saw this afternoon. It was dead on right out of the box. There were a couple or minor things I ran into: 1. The saw lock was pretty loose and would engage on every cut locking the saw down. There is a 2.5mm set screw there on the side of the sliding lock bolt which I slightly tightened up and solved that issue. 2. I wanted to put a 60T fine-cut blade on it. Loosening the cover screw to move the cover back to expose the blade bolt was somewhat of a challenge....until I realized that the screw has to be almost completely backed out in order for the cover to move. BTW, blade bolt is reverse thread: clockwise to loosen. I made several cuts with various thicknesses, and this beast ate it up. Overall, it's a nice piece of equipment, especially for a DYIer/homeowner/hobbiest. Great saw. I know this video is over a year and a half old, but still want to say "thank-you, Vince", for putting it out there for us.
Yes, I want, thanks for review! $250 Amazon March 2023.
I’ve had my Dewalt 12” DWS799 for 2 months and I wouldn’t trade it for anything. An absolute beast to my tool arsenal.
These things are flying off the shelf. Would love to see another video going through some of the features, your thoughts now that it's been a few months (assuming you've been using it), changing the blade, etc. Thanks for all the great content, VCG/Vince. Cheers!
Thankfully you pointed out it was heavily greased as opposed to lightly greased ! Kidding buddy I am a contractor looking for a drag around miter saw. I hv a 12” Makita corded in my shop on a nice stand and it’s “Flat & plumb to the cut” with a Chop master blade (finish carpenter & cabinet maker). So when I do trim outta of the shop I need a saw! My 12” fixed Dewalt is getting to much to drag out! Thank u for the video!
Keep up the good work Vince
U know something vince....I believe you sir have improved your game when it comes to reviews!
Skil coming in hot with that table saw and now this mitre!
@VCG Construction you're so knowledgeable with those tools man, you adjusted stuff I didn't even know is adjustable. It would be amazing and really popular I'm sure if you make a series like "Tips for crafts" and just go balls deep in all kind of construction and DYI tips and tricks.
Got the tack life double bevel 10 inch miter saw for 100 bucks with 3 blades included awsome deal.
Like always good advice for us the DIY 👍🏽
Needing to replace my existing miter saw, watched a great many KZread videos on almst everything out there in today's market. Much appreciate your review, walk-through and explanations. Most impressed by how true the saw is and how easy it was to square up the blade to fence. Based on this review I've gone ahead with purchase from Amazon. Anxious for receipt. Thank you!

@@jeremiahguadan2624 Thanks for your follow-up and with much appreciation. Couldn't be happier!
I like 10" because I can share blades with my table saw. Seems trivial but keeps me from buying 3 different sizes (miter, table, & circular).
This is a great saw & the price was good too. Highly recommend!
A 12 inch Dewalt sliding I was just on sale a few weeks ago at Home Depot for 299 I think. What I’m looking at now is the Bosch. Since it has a smaller footprint when it comes to the sliding mechanism you don’t have to worry about it sitting so far back like the dewalt and skill. Takes up less space for a shop.
Great Video me personally I have a Jet,Festool and Hitachi which the hitachi has been my go to and I now have this one I think weather your a professional or diy person I think it's a great saw for the money!
Picked this up for $250 this week. Very happy to see you have it a positive review

Not gunna lie I beat the guts out of my Milwaukee M18 10" sliding miter saw and I really enjoy it. Works great for me. Dust collection sucks but it is what it is. Great video Vinny. Keep it up cuz!!!
Good morning Vince and the VCG gang
It's on to the break of Dawn! great video!
Looking at one right now for $249. I think my decision is made! Thanks for the review!
Great video was thinking about getting the 10 inch RIDGID (Delta clone) this video is making me think twice
Thx for the video, I would like to see you cut crown molding on the flat
Def do make a video on the adjustments! it would be a solid complete guide on the great Skilsaw PRODUCT.

Just got the 12” skillsaw that you suggested during one of your live in Lowe’s a few weeks back.
a follow up video showcasing blade change and fine adjustments would be awesome
I like it already!!!
My next purchase for sure
Would love a review of the Skilsaw 12” after your year of using it. Thanks VCG!
Very nice saw
I would love tobsee a review on the hercules miter saw. Mine has served me well. I got it for 310 dollars with coupon. Thats a steal for a pro grade 12 inch slider
I just purchased this great saw. However I need a tutorial on bevel cuts. Setting up for bevels and how to change the blade. Plus, if time, how to fine tune the adjustments.
Great video. Just order mine on Amazon. Love more videos on it.
Nice review!
Love the intro beats
Skil sure seems to be coming back into their own! You should test out their worm drive mitre saw and heavy duty worm drive table saw they are power houses!

I know right? They seem to want to compete with the big boys now, their worm drive jobsite table saw is looking real fine.
@VCGconstruction I’d appreciate a tutorial/in depth vid on this saw for sure!
Nice saw I use Makita and Metabo HPT saws. Although I could use a small 7 1/4" cordless saw. Electric is not always available and my generators make a bunch of noise.
First comment I hope lol, just bought my battery powered Milwaukee and can’t wait to put it to use. Thanks for the reviews vcg

Love your reviews, you sound like a you're from Bensonhurst,I've bought tools cause of you Vince.👍👍👍👍👍
That was good Vince Phillup’s
Interesting stuff Vince🤔
I like the idea of a 10" saw cause my table saw is a 10" as well. Dont have to worry about buying different sizes.
I’d like to see the crown molding video with this saw.
Happy Sunday, VCG and the gang! Keep up the great job!🧰🤙😍
@vcg construction Vince I would like to see your trips with crown molding. I normally use a circular saw but am willing to learn easier and quicker ways to save time.
Crazy but I just got mine yesterday an then I seen your videos for the first time , must say as a first timer for your videos keep up the good work!

Where did you get it from ?
I enjoyed your video. I bought one of these a couple of months ago. So far so good but I'm a little disappointed that it doesn't have any detents for bevels between 90 degrees and 45 degrees. Also, when I first took it out of the box I was impressed with the cam operated hold-down clamp for quick adjustments but two minor problems: I doesn't tighten as much as a screw down clamp and I wish it was tall enough to go over the top of the high extended fence. But other that than that I like it so far. UPDATE: another disappointment with this saw is that it doesn't have a 30 degree miter detent. I made a cut at 30 degrees but it wasn't accurate enough to make a hexagonal planter without trial and error, Another saw in this price range, Kobalt 10" has more detents. Still, overall I like the saw though there is room for improvement.
Yes please show the crown molding
Yes would like to see crown molding cut flat
skil is my preferred brand but my next miter saw must have the rails forward of the fence, not behind the fence. as a DIYer my miter saw has a dedicated space in my garage and i dont have the real-estate for a miter saw with the rails behind the fence. The foot print of these types of saws is 8-10 inches deeper than the others.
Yeah, I think a tutorial video showing how to cut crown flat with this saw and the smaller 7 1/4" saw for comparison would be good! 🙂 For this video here, you didn't say how it does with dust collection unless I missed it.
@VCGCONSTRUCTION. Good review Vince like always but ill stick with my DWS780. She is a beast but has never let me down. I would deff like to see a video on how you cut crown molding. Be a great example for someone who is staring out or for that diy homeowner who just bought a miter saw and wants to learn from a pro.
I actually prefer the shadow over the laser line because regardless I always use my thumb to lift the guard a little bit bring the saw blade down to my pencil mark and then raise it back up about an inch or two and make my cut
Got mine and the portable flooring saw. It's old but diablo blades make up for that 😎
Might have to go to Lowell’s upgrade my old craftsman
Go Vince!
