Comprehensive well done review as always! Looks like you went to Florida for this one? Ok 👌 You mentioned Florida in the review.

I have a Turris, I added a Blackburn Outpost rear rack and it’s a fantastic fit. Also added a Cane Creek Thudbuster seat post. Makes for a very comfortable bike. Heck of a value that will take you anywhere you want to go.

I was going back and forth between this and the Core-5. I like the looks and color choices of the Core-5 better. I'm pretty handy with bike repairs and upgrades, so I decided to go for the Core-5 and upgrade it with Tektro Hydraulic brakes with cutoff, a Judy Silver fork and fenders. Basically turning the Core-5 into a Turris. All in, the upgraded Core-5 will end up $70 more (basically the difference between Tektro and Zoom hydraulic brakes and better fork). Plus the Core-5 battery access is on top of the downtube instead of under, which I prefer. So basically you can make the Core-5 better than the Turris for $70 and a little work. I’m still undecided about the suspension fork since I like the feel and handling of a rigid fork. I might go with stem suspension instead.

Exactly! I am quite familiar with two ride1up basic models and look of Turris did not struck me as a departure from lineup. Btw, I am still waiting for any(!) vendor that will offer the touring bike with fenders and racks but without the gear switcher. For the last 4-5 years I never used it once, only throttle when necessary. What do you think about such a bike?

Just purchased the XR Forest Green model on sale for $1095.00. Many great reviews on this Ride1Up bike along with good reviews for their other models. Looking forward to riding the Turris.

Noticed a high pitched motors sound. Can you speak to this. Also do you have a video installing the front forks and brakes. Cranks and pedals are pretty easy, Right and Left and make sure you thread the correct direction.

So looking into getting my first Ebike. Two have gotten my attention after going down the rabbit hole of research - Eunorau UHVO and the Ride1up Turris. Right now the UHVO is only available for me in the 350W version, and with the 13Ah battery is $1350. The Turris has a 750w motor with a 12.8Ah battery for $1300. They are of similar weight, and have quite similar hardware otherwise too. So which would you rather have: the rear suspension, or the bigger motor? I live in a rural area that is pretty hilly, but most roads are paved with the occasional dirt/ packed gravel road thrown in. Thanks for any advise you may have.

I'd probably go Turris without knowing the quality of rear suspension on the UHVO. Probably pretty entry level. And I do think Ride1Up is better customer support wise. But I've had no issues with our Eunoraus.

There are tons of E-bike reviews on the internet, they are all on performance. The biggest issue for potential buyers like me is bike reliability. I was prepared to buy an e-bike two months ago but when I read the horror stories about e-bike problems on the BBB website, I decided to wait until this issue is resolved. Issues like bike DOA, problems with the motor/battery/controller, and a lack of spare parts and post-sale customer support. You can do us a big favor in addressing the reliability issue rather than more on bike performance. In fact, I won't even look at bike performance until I have reliability assessments!

Reliability is exactly why I haven't bought an affordable ebike. I'm now looking at friction drive ebike kits because they're simpler and it separates the electronics from the bike. It's also worth noting that ebike mechanics really aren't a thing. an rc car hobbiest might understand ebikes better than a bike shop mechanic.

I bought a Ride Scoozy Torque 1 and the chain snapped the second day I rode it. I bought one for my girlfriend and the battery rattles in the frame. I don’t have much confidence in most of these bikes. If the motor dies, have to throw it out… they should offer user replaceable parts on these bikes.

Lots of reliable ebikes on the market, just have to do lots of homework. I'll tell you one right now, Lectric is one. Very reliable overall, and customer service is great. Sure there are whiners, and crybabies, but in the grand scheme of things, they are top shelf, along with several others I know of. Yes, I have one, along with an Evelo.👍
