The Ride1Up Turris is a brand new adventure touring style electric bike weighing in at just 55lbs with 100mm front suspension and a 48v 12.8ah battery packing 615 watt-hours of juice, capable of 25-45 miles of range.
My thorough Ride1Up Turris electric bike review examines this ebike in detail and I put it through actual performance tests and range tests to help you decide if it's the right choice for you, rather than just hyping up another product with no factual evidence for doing so...unlike most other channels.
I am 6'5" and weigh 200lbs for your reference to performance data observed in this review.

    Ended up buying this bike and your review helped a ton on deciding what bike to get. Thing has been stout so far and it's a good looking bike. Hated the fat tire idea and this thing did the trick.

    Loved the review. I especially loved the test ride, and since I already put my Turris together it's interesting how others go about it. I didn't put lube on the fork since the video I watched through the Ride1up site didn't. Now I'm thinking of going back, and doing it. I'll hold off since I don't feel like disassembling. What I do want is a rear view mirror. Not an easy fit with limited space. I did buy a back rack out of the gate since I may need to carry something. Thanks again.

    We just put my son's together today, and everything about this bike is very good quality at this price point. The only thing heavier riders (240 lbs+) might take note of is that the fork spring is relatively soft even at maximum preload, but other than that, we are truly impressed with it. (I am sure a stiffer spring or more preload could be modified into it.) The build quality of the frame appears to be really good, and aside from it being a hub motor, there's no reason with some upgrades that it could not be a very fun light to medium duty enduro bike. Best part though is that being a 27.5" wheelset means you can throw virtually any tire imaginable onto it, from slicks to studded knobbies, any MTB tire up to 2.4" wide should work well on it. And topping all of this off, Oregon provides a $300 rebate through local utilities for up to two bikes per customer, bringing the price of ours down to $995!

    I just bought a turris for my wife and the factory settings for each individual p.a.s. level were set ridiculously low.. p.a.s 1 was at 8% power.. 2 at 14% etc and p.a.s 5 at only 70% power of the available 800-ish available watts of power. My settings are now as follows. P.a.s 1 At 20% ...2 at 40% .. 3 at 60% .. 4 at 75% and 5 at 99% . P.a.s 5 now gets over 800 watts of power as it should and I get better performance out of every level of pedal assist.

    @@TailHappyTV I received my Turris couple of days ago and couldn't be more pleased with the build quality. Had the chance to ride it for about 10 miles and it was very smooth and sturdy. Only issue is the seat is a bit too soft, so it should be easy to replace. My girlfriend tried it as well, she's 5'5" and had no problem handling it though she felt it's "too much bike" for her. I was wondering if you have any recommendations for women ebikes that we could consider. cheers.

    A very nice successor to the 500. I’m thinking this frame may get used on the next generation Core-5 and LMT’d because it resembles their current frames very much, but looks like it has a stronger downtube because of the open part of the section being in tension, and can accommodate a larger capacity battery than they currently do.

    Can you do a review of the lectric ebike exhibition? It's a cargo bike. Hmmm. On second thought companies probably send you the bikes and you do reviews of those received. I'll ask them to send you the bike I'm talking about. Hopefully you'll get one soon. I think you do a fantastic job reviewing bikes! You should think about being shorter tho. I’m thinking my purchase would be this Ride1Up or the Velotric Discover 1. Would you recommend one over the other for a first ebike for an old guy’s first electric bike? Thanks. New sub. 👍🏼

    Thanks Glen, it’s a tough call between the Turris and Discover 1. The main difference I can think of is the more relaxed riding position on the Velotric. The velotric throttle and PAS sensor are different too, each may be more suitable to different kinds of riders. Both are very similar bikes with subtle differences, and at the end of the day both are great options.

    Honestly it’s hard for me to say, I feel like it will work if you’re determined, just drop the bike to the side a bit when you mount, or have the left pedal set to the 10 o’clock position and step onto it and mount as you roll forward for style points. Hope this helps! Happy riding regardless of what you choose, please consider using my link below the video if you do grab this one 🤙⚡️

    So looking into getting my first Ebike. Two have gotten my attention after going down the rabbit hole of research - Eunorau UHVO and the Ride1up Turris. Right now the UHVO is only available for me in the 350W version, and with the 13Ah battery is $1350. The Turris has a 750w motor with a 12.8Ah battery for $1300. They are of similar weight, and have quite similar hardware otherwise too. So which would you rather have: the rear suspension, or the bigger motor? I live in a rural area that is pretty hilly, but most roads are paved with the occasional dirt/ packed gravel road thrown in. Thanks for any advise you may have.

  • @TailHappyTV

    @TailHappyTV

    Жыл бұрын

    That’s a tough call because both bikes are very different. If you’re going to be doing mostly street riding I’d go with the Turris. Something you did not mention in the comment is the Eunorau is only a 36v system vs 48v in the Turris. This is going to make the Eunorau feel significant less powerful and also have less total range by quite a bit compared to Turris. The full suspension bike will definitely have a more cushy ride though. Hope this helps, and if you do go with the Turris please consider using my link if you want to help support my reviews and channel, happy riding!

    @@TailHappyTV Thank you for the advise. I totally missed the 36v vs 48v difference. That's a pretty big point in the Turris column, as range is going to be a major factor for me since I live about 9 miles from town. Much appreciated.

    Almost perfect. If they reduced the weight to 45lbps, dropping the motor to 500W which is more than enough and reducing the battery to perhaps a 12ah making it look more like a regular bike then this would fly like hot cakes! Also I hope ride1up starts hiding their wires like other manufacturers.

    My wife ordered this bike and didnt read the fine print at checkout. Ride 1up requires you to accept a bike from the shipper no matter how severely damaged. Her bike was severely mangled, the derailer and back part of the frame were bent terribly. Upon denying the bike from the shipper she found out ride 1up would charge her the 200 restocking fee. They said she should have received the bike per the policy and they would have mailed her parts for her to fix the bike herself. Very displeased with this lack of customer service. If you pay 1300 for a product you shouldn't have to do major repairs on a new bike.
