These stomach exercises have many names through many forms of yoga. I first learned of them through Rickson Gracie. They are great for learning abdominal control and help with digestion.

Stomach vacuums used to be the staple for abdominal workout to help build a stronger core and slim your waist line. Sad thing it is no longer used for body builders and in fitness regimens. The bubble gut in modern times shows a lack of muscle control, especially when you see bodybuilders breathing heavy. Excellent tutorial by the way.

3rduncle Yes, that is an aspect, but do you see bodybuilders even attempt stomach vacuums or recommend it as an ab exercise? Fitness teachers and classes don't mention it at all. The classic physiques like Steve Reeves and Vince Gironda were the most aesthetically pleasing. Paul Dillet was one man during poses Schwarzennegar commentated on his lack of muscle control in his stomach, when he could not hold a pose and breathed heavily.
and Master Rickson learned it from Master Orlando Cani ( Master in Hatha-Yoga ) 💖

Thanks bro! My 40-year old self has done a bit better than my 20 years old self. I don't think it matters much what you eat as opposed to when. If you get your body to burn fat from low carbs and/or light fasting, you can get comfortable with an empty stomach but still have high energy. A little bulletproof coffee and lowing the simple carbs a couple times a week generally does the trick. I like your channel. Nice work!

Finally! Ive been searching youtube to find a better how to breathing technique! Could you make a longer video and go more in depth. The longer you do the breathing, the longer you can hold your breath to do the intercostal exercise, so it's really up to you. So, basically these are progressions? Since not everyone can start off with the side-to-side movement, then they would just start off with making a vacuum and as their abdominal muscles get stronger they would be better able to control them and move them side to side? Does this sound right?

The Nauli kriya is one of the most important exercises in Yoga. It is dangerous though if you do it wrong. Be on an empty stomach, breaths must be smooth, dont force it. If done PROPERLY It oxygenates your brain and organs, removes toxins from the system, smooths out stagnated blood and cleanses the intestines. Provides a good massage to the organs when done correctly.

But Rickson and most diaphramatic breathing techniques (pranayama, Russian Systema) inhale nasally and exhale through the mouth. I have never seen it done this technique. Can you explain this? Because all that I have read on practiced make it clear to inhale through the nose to fill the lower lobes of the lungs rather than the mouth which only fills the top of our lungs and also activates our panic nerve receptors. Something that nasal breathing does the opposite of. Which is the point of diaphragmatic breathing, to remain calm.

Yes, those are the typical yoga exercises. But, what good or harm does this do for your breathing muscles and breathing functions? Have you found any benefit to this imitation? @BreathFitness

Good question. When I have gotten a stomach ache, a few of these seem to massage your organs and aid in the movement of food through your system. While they do aid in breath control in some sense, I think a more important thing is to practice some sort of breathing exercise or breath fitness.
